<p>So my daughter got an invitation for a halloween party. She's in first grade, which is a fairly transitional time, so I wasn't sure if this was the kind of party we take her to and stay, or whether we drop her off. Easy, my 3 year old, really wants to go, but I wasn't sure if he was expected. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>I didn't really know how to ask, because I didn't want to ask for an invitation for my son if there wasn't meant to be. So I emailed the parents:</p>
<p> </p>
<div><em>Miss Sunshine was very excited to hear about Friend's party; thank you for the invitation!</em></div>
<div><em> </em></div>
<div><em>I was wondering if I could have a little more detail about the party so we can plan our Halloween day. Is this a party for families and siblings too, or should Miss Sunshine be dropped off? Soli has a <span class="yshortcuts" id="user_lw_1287174834_1"><span style="color:#366388;">little brother</span></span> who she wants to go trick or treating with, so we're trying to figure how we're going to organize the day.</em></div>

<div>This is the response I got:</div>
<div> </div>
<div>
<div><em>We are excited to have Miss Sunshine at the party! We will have some crafts, snacks & cupcakes. </em></div>
<div><em>Whatever is best for you is fine.... you can drop off or are welcome to come and bring the family. </em></div>
<div><em>Just let me know who is coming.</em></div>
<div> </div>
<div>Her response doesn't really answer my question, does it? Will there be other parents there, as happens in 90% of the birthday parties we've been to up through kindergarten, or will we be the only parents and younger sibling in a party filled with little girls doing crafts?
<div> </div>
<div>Did I do wrong by asking? Did I ask in the wrong way? </div>
<div> </div>
</div>
<div>How would you handle this?</div>
