I know I have been absent, and I have a decent(?) reason for that, but what happened? Triathlon a dying breed? People just don't have anything to say? Everybody knows everything? No newbies?

Just dropping by to say hi to the old crew. We had some good times. :)

Kona is today... No mention?

Yes, but a lot of us "follow" each other on FB so a lot of communication happens there.

Word on the street is that it's not easy to post to this forum from smart phones.

you're such a tease.

yeah, I couldn't read or post to the forum from my blackberry, so I got out of the LIT habit. I follow many LIT peeps on facebook so I stalk catch up on things there. I have a droid now so theoretically I could post more.

also, I'm hopefully finally actually returning to triathlon with hopefully healthy hips. it was really, really hard to be here when I couldn't do anything.

now can you stop teasing us and spill?

BTW, Crowie won number 3 and Chrissie got number 4.

My next triathlon will be the season opener in Clermont, April 2013. I'll need a year to recover from major surgery that will hopefully be scheduled on m y b-day, 2012. (March 21)

Such suspense!

I've been pretty much in the same boat as em. I think it's harder to be active on this board when you aren't getting to be as active IRL as you'd like to be.

Glad to see you posting, though!

Yeah, the forum format has been a serious limiter for me. Without smartphone access, I cannot be mobile. Plus Wastebook is sucking people away. Damn shame.

And I guess none of us have had the time/interest to find a new home and migrate away? The folks here have been super nice and trying hard - unlike our prior home - but we're not their only child and they refuse to put up with our tantrums :(

Waaaaaa

Some of the old crew showed recently... purple haze, jcrew, etc... I think we may have bored them away again though

Real life got in my way...

and MCM training.

And, a little bit, too....I have a running partner to help keep me interested and accountable, so Rabbit's been getting the brunt of my "aches and pains" things that I would have otherwise posted.

20 miles in the rain today was just a tad too close to my last IM training ride from two years ago. At least this time, though, I managed NOT to descend into a hypothermic situation. It still took me a good 25 minutes to stop shivering, but at least today I was:

out of wet clothes and into dry ones.

wearing a super warm hat that was my dad's (so that was like getting wrapped in his arms)

snuggling with a bottle of warm (microwaved) gatorade

wearing fleece socks

totally cocooned in a comforter on the couch INSIDE

while I was getting over the shivers.

If MCM is wet, I'm going to have serious issues post-race.

But, at least I know it now, so I can pack accordingly.

There..............that's pretty much the last few months in a nutshell.

Chalk another one up to real life with work, kid activities, family, blah, blah, blah. I just don't have the time to spare. Plus I spent most of the last 4 months getting over some injuries so I essentially took the summer off real training. Getting back into it now and gearing up for the Houston HM in January. We'll see what next year brings though. I don't anticipate my RL demands will abate any time soon. I barely kept my triathlete card this year by squeezing in a sprint in August and that one was woefully undertrained. It's been a lot easier to keep up with my LIT peeps and my running club friends on FB since they're all in one place.

I'm always on smart phone and rarely here. Life is busy. Ben is busy. Work is busy.

Sara wth? Warm gatorade. Odd bird:)

Thank goodness you changed into dry clothes...you remember what happened last time...

I really like how you are wearing your dad's sweater.

I'm on FB mostly...it's easier for me to check in and out quick.
