But I think the role that gave my suspension of disbelief its worst case of whiplash was Jimmy Fallon showing up in Band of Brothers. YECCHHH!!!

Dustin Hoffman in just about anything. I just can't get past his unimpeachable integrity as an actor and his lustrous Dustin Hoffmanosity. The whole time I'm watching him act I'm thinking, "YOU'RE WATCHING DUSTIN HOFFMAN ACT!"

He doesn't act ... he learns the lines, then recites them without any range, emotion or inflection; sometimes either stuttering or mumbling, just for effect. Some call this "subtlety" or "craft"

I like his work for entertainment's sake, but as an actor? He's hack.

He is Benjamin Braddock, always and forever

Robert Redford in The Horse Whisperer. Of course, that movie sucked from beginning to end. (Actually, I can't fully and accurately vouch for that. I quit watching after the first 2.25 hours. First and only time I've ever bailed out of a movie, and that includes sitting through The Contender and The American President. Can't speak for the last 35 minutes.)

So Redford, who starred and directed, filmed himself through about a dozen camera filters to try to take the edge off of his 62 years. Problem was, as the shots switched between Redford and another actor, it felt like you had just finished eye surgery in one eye and were switching back and forth between your bad eye and your good one as you watched first Redford then the other actor.
