2500-ish swim this morning. I almost had to bag it because the lifeguard hadn't shown up yet but she walked in just in time!

Strength Endurance session this morning on a trainer. Didn't feel that tired from LT run yesterday but #'s didn't lie. Had to use a lighter gear compared to the last week session to keep 85rpm and I coudln't push enough to bring HR to where it should be.

Swim later if I have enough energy.

15 minutes rowing followed by 45 minutes of upper body and core strength training. That's my equivalent of swim training since I don't have access to a pool till June. I followed that by 20 minutes of easy spinning to loosen up the legs.

I'm hoping to get in a short run at lunch, work schedule permitting.

Forgot to add that I did actually do the ab workout this morning prior to my swim that someone posted in my thread earlier this week. Either I'm incredibly uncoordinated, or have extremely weak abs b/c that ball and me were rolling all over the living room floor Need to work on that....

Too lazy to post in yesterday's thread, so here's a 2 for 1:

Yesterday: 15 minute warmup on elliptical & 3 miles on the treadmill. Swim techniques class last night for 1 hour.

Today: swimming while the info from last night's class are still fairly fresh in my mind. This class is great, but makes realize how far I still need to go. Wonder when I'll have that "AHA" moment when it all clicks.

Happy hump day all!

Upper body and back day with the weights followed by hour plus of hockey. No goals but could have picked up about 4 penalties. Great skate that finished 9-9. Have a great day.

Feeling frustrated today. Did a 30 min easy run yesterday just to keep the legs loose for the weekend's half mary, but my back is still so tight I could tell my posture was funky. Today my back is feeling worse. If I sit for more than a few minutes at a time, I get up and can't straighten all the way. ARGH!

Supposed to do an hour easy spin, but think I'll go to the pool instead. I sure hope this clears up by Sat.

Dreary morning here north of Boston. Rain at my house in Massachusetts, snow up by work in New Hampster.

Alaska Mike: Dude, that was a serious, serious, seriously AWESOME workout for you yesterday. To pull sub-6's at the end is extremely impressive. You are going to ROCK Boston. 2:45 dog! Hold that confidence near and dear.

Me...

5 mile tempo run early this morning. Followed by...

41 lap swim:
o WU - bunch o' laps
o 10 x 100 yards
Second per lap on avg slower per lap. Just didn't have it. Was also forced to the splash and stretch lane, so that threw me off a bit, but seriously didn't have the top end today. But getting through this was easier. Overall avg per lap was :49 secs. Faster were :47, slower at a pathetic :51. Good news it that the early intervals had more consistent first and second laps only a second a part, where usually my second is 3 seconds slower.

Have a GREAT day, Tri-peeps!

Yesterday I had my run in the morning, and then last night I did TI drills. I think it's going to help alot.
This morning I got in some chest and tris, and tonight I will see if I can put those TI drills to good use.

Wed runs are starting to be something to look forward to.

4.83 miles in an hour or so...
weights later this afternoon.

I think one of the reasons I was starting to get hum drum about running was that I wasn't ever doing anything different. So....having a plan and doing the plan..... yeah, that's a good idea.

So today we celebrate the first ultra?

I have to start with yesterday's workout, since it was late, as late as the daylight would allow.. 25mi bike ride with a new group. Actually, it's only my second group ride ever, and it was pretty cool. They told me the group would make me much stronger and they were right, I pushed myself much harder, especially since it was the first time with them and I didn't want to embarass myself. Very windy and cold but time passed faster than when being alone.

Heidi, don't worry, I think it happens to everybody, I also keep moving all over the place on the ball.

I'm home a day early from my Cheltenham jaunt as they cancelled today's racing because of high winds being potentially dangerous.

this is very disappointing, and I cannot benefit from the rescheduling of the races to later in the week because of work comitments. And I backed no winners yesterday! in 6 races I found 4 seconds and a fourth but no winner.

so I'm home. will go to the pool this pm to do a swim. not a happy chappy though.
