On this day in 2006 "The Phantom of the Opera" became the longest-running show in Broadway history, surpassing "Cats," which ran for 7,485 performances.

I slept in. I'll get something at lunchtime. Gator Girl returns from Ohio today. Can't wait.

Floating, falling, sweet intoxication!
Welcome 26.2!!

Another unplanned rest day. I actually feel fine, but I'm coughing a lot - picked up a new inhaler last night so hopefully that keeps the coughing at bay. Didn't think it would be appropriate to subject the rest of the group to that in the pool this morning. I may do an easy spin on my bike tonight, we'll see.

Welcome 26.2! Look, hope the coughing is better soon. My cold moved down into my chest, so it's a rest day for me - except all the hacking and nose blowing. Working from home so I don't bother anyone else. Too bad I actually have a project due tomorrow, would love to lay around all day.

Sleepy morning here in New England. News of New Hampshire's primary has monopolized Massachusetts' news. Which is good because it's forcing me to learn more about the party candidates for our (Mass.) own primary later on.

Beth: Nice to see you back posting regularly here again.

26.2: Welcome! If you don't mind, tell us a bit about your goals. Any A-races this year? And no worries on us being "kind"... we're not like that. We realize everyone has their own goals. We are all drawn together to help motivate, answer questions, share a laugh, and well, support each other in whatever goal's we dream. So dream big. Then get out there and Make it Happen!

Me...

4 mile run early this morning. Hit snooze, like, twenty times before getting out the door. Was hoping to get in a hill session but put it off until probably tomorrow due to more sore than usual quads from a weight increase on this one exercise I'm doing in the gym. Followed by...

40 lap steady swim w/2 8-10 lap pickups. Tried to focus on high elbow and my catch. Laps a touch slower than normal. I have a theory that my stroke is actually not bad, but my catch and pull just aren't there. Lots of people talk about feeling a heavy spot on the water with the palm of their hand in the catch. I've never felt that. But I often do feel it in the pull. So tried, rather unsuccessfully, to feel a catch. Tried different arm and hand positions. Nada.

Phantom workouts don't count come race day, Tri-Falsettos, so sing them loud and proud and feel the burn and churn!

Ah let's see... for "A" races I would have to say my HIM in August and my Oly in July. I'm gonna throw out there out loud for the first time that I might have a slight chance of qualifying for AG Nationals and/or Halfmax National Championships. But I really need to improve on the bike. A lot. If I want either of those to happen.

Great workouts to all! When I sleep in, I look at it as extra recovery that's going to benefit me down the road.

Morning: 80 minute run in HR Zone 1, holding 92-96 cadence. Most pleasant run I've had in months actually, even though most of it was in the dark. Didn't trip over anything though.

Afternoon: try and get to the pool and work on some longer sets, and technique, and good old flip turns.

Yesterday's yoga session was enlightening. I knew in my head that I need to work on my strength. My body knows it now.

This evening is an easy 45 minute run followed by some core work.

hoping to go to spin class on the cruise today, we'll see.
DS7 is stuck in isolation 48 hours and they are making sure he's staying put. They're checking up on us all the time Deliverying goodies and finding excuses to call, very very nice and casual and low key but still it's clear they are making sure he stays put!

after a very rough yesterday he is doing much better today, so by the end of the day he's going to be going fruit loops I bet!

free room service is kind of nice though!

Neat. And thanks for replying.

If you live it colder weather area, hit the Trainer with quality workouts. Your biking will improve immensely. And the beauty is that the stronger you get on the bike the more able you will be to run to your ability, and seeing you're a marathoner, that should put you in very good standing.

I qualified and am already registered for the Halfmax National Championships, so I'll be cheering you on so that we can connect in October out in Vegas. Good luck!

Let's see... today I did some strength training (working that butt!!) -- core & legs. Then, I rode the stationary bike for 30 mins. I don't much enjoy it, but my Saturday ride is out this week because DH has to do a 23 mile run and we have a birthday party, etc.... I want to get back into cycling more. I haven't lost too much leg strength in 3 months (not that I had much to lose!! LOL)

I did a 3.1 mile run last night. It wasn't great. DH and I were switching off with the jogger stroller, but when I got it near the end, my son was VERY grouchy (not like him in the stroller), so I had to cut my run short. I ran 1 mile easy (half with jogger), then I did one mile as fast as I could (8:00, which is slower than last time at 7:37), then I walked/ran the last mile with the jogger. I was really tired, so I was fine quitting early. Today was a better workout.

My running buddy had to go out of town for a family emergency, so I'm doing intervals alone tomorrow. I hope I can stay motivated!
