does lifting of a snow shovel and pusing a snow blowere count as a work out when done for about 3 hours? If so that's my workout, if not then I have a DOR. Office opened late but it appears most people are working from home. I came in.

Think I might go for another lunchtime run today, since it isn't raining. Main workout, though, is the evening trainer session, which will probably be 2 x 15 min at 85%. Slowly building those intervals to longer and longer blocks before I scale them back again and push the pace up.

Oh, and I worked on increasing my turnover rate in the pool last night. Felt a little weird, but I believe that Swim Smooth site may be right. Just might be on to something here.

Taking a page from my husbands training methods(!) and doing 5x400m intervals at 5k pace on the treadmill today.

Tooting my horn here, we were doing Vo2 sets in the pool last night. I was late so I only got a few hundred metres of warm up in before we started the main set and I was still able to rip off a 1:27 for 100m followed by a 1:29. It`s nice to see progress!

18.51 mile bike ride and a 1 mile run. I noticed my average heart rate was up 2 from Tuesdays ride. Today's ride did seem a lot harder and i didn't get as far. I do like my new DeSoto tri shorts though.

Good afternoon, TEAM LIT!

Me...

2.5 mile plod in the snow early this morning. After back to back days of hills then speed, and after racking cord of wood the same day as speed, I was absolutely shot this morning as I pulled on the MICROspikes for a romp in the freshly fallen foot of snow that blanketed the area. Good footing with the spikes just no oomph. No worries though, because the quality was already done. So consider it a rest day -- that including a lot of shoveling!

Last night's date with Coach Troy made my butt hurt.

I haven't been on my bike since October. That's super pathetic!

Today I am scheduled for my first tempo run since this summer. I'm not sure that I'm ready for speedwork yet since I've only been running regularly for about 4-5 weeks.

Part of me says do it and see how it goes. The other part says, do some fartleks and work into it. So, is it too soon or am I mental?

Tammy - What Julie said. Don't feel like you have to hit tempo pace right away. Ease into it over the first mile.

Well.....I woke up today! Yay!

Wasn't feeling the love of the roads, so did my 5 miles on the TM.

It probably isn't surprising that I'm a little more honest in terms of sustained effort on it, because to slack off would mean a very public humiliation as I would be sent flying off the back.

Then, went to meet with my "not nice" trainer Lisa. She finds it fun to encourage people to watch me fall off the floor. lol

We get great work done, but it's definitely not a "standard" type of relationship with a trainer. We've been accused of being sisters because "y'all are mean to each other!."

Well, it turns out to be my business partner's birthday today, so my lunchtime run turned into Thai food instead. Not a bad trade, but I'd still like to get that run in before the rain returns. But the trainer session is the key workout for the day, so we'll see what happens. Dunno.
