On this day in 1853 Verdi's opera "La Traviata" premiered in Venice, Italy.

5 easy miles for the M-Dawg and I this morning. After a few days of 40+ weather, 26 seemed cold again. But it was dry and comfortable. Found Iron Boy breathing hard near mile 2 and ran the middle two miles (at my pedestrian pace) with him - boy do mile go faster with company!

Se una pudica vergine
1hr easy ride this morning. Mainly just low gear, keeping the cadence between 92-95. Came out to 18.93 miles.

I may try an easy run this afternoon to see how the PF is doing...and I just want to run. As of now, there's no pain. I've been stretching, icing, ice massaging and ibuprofening for the last few days to complement the time off from running. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Great workouts to all!

Lots of ice out there this morning in the pre-dawn darkness. Made the footing a little tricky at times. Anyway, I got in 7.5 miles at a relaxed (when not on ice) pace of a little better than 8:30.

Everybody take care out there...spring is coming.

great workouts, tri-folks.

today: I am officially an idiot.

Last night, I checked the weather, found out that it's going to be gorgeous in Boston by lunchtime. Packed up my running stuff, my showering stuff, mapped out a three mile loop down Comm Ave through the Public Garden and the Common.... set my alarm to get up and go straight to work instead of running first.

Got up, was moving things from my work bag to my gym bag when I realized that today is Thursday, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at work, I have a class at lunchtime, so no lunch break, and therefore, no run at lunch. doh!

Now I will be running after work instead and missing the lovely weather and the scenery.

Pool at lunchtime for 1000m straight.

Felt good and comfortable but got my ar5e handed to me by a woman swimming breast-stroke in the next lane.

8.25 mile run tonight.

Chilly morning here in New England with icy patches about...

LRR: I agree, fishdog... miles with peeps are so much easier and go by so fast. My run this morning would've dragged on had we not hitched the middle miles together. Glad the M-dawg got her poop in.

Me...

7.5 (?) mile run early this morning. Did two repeats for 3-4 minutes at HM pace up a hill. Hooked up with LRR and the M-Dawg for a few miles. Then added three 4 minute pick ups at HM pace. They hurt. Just didn't have it in me this morning. I suppose yesterday's run and leg presses at noon did me in. In all...
o WU - 1.5 miles
o 2 x 3' up hill @ HM pace
o Few Fun miles
o 3 x 4' @ HM pace (mainly flat to rolling hills)
Followed immediately by...

50 min "Power" Trainer session:
o WU - 20 min
o 15 x 1' G10 w/1' rest
Legs fried. Only pushed 280W overall. Since the power wasn't there and I felt I was still doing quality enough to benefit (trust me, I contemplated getting off the bike), instead of forcing myself to hit 400W on the "on" interval, I didn't force it at all but instead tried to stay strong and smooth.

If some gentle maiden, in the springtime of her life descended upon my path, I would... oh nevermind.

Great workouts guys. Mike, hope the PF is just a warning and nothing more.

Nothing for me again today as work takes over my life (but it's a recovery week anyway). I'm in NYC today. 1.25 mile walk from the train station to my meetings. Would like to do the same walk tonight, but I'll see how I feel.

Jealous of you guys - keep up the good work!!

Lackluster swim last night, just wasn't feeling the love for some reason. Tonight I plan to push my knees a little bit on the stationary bike. Hoping for 40 minutes of hill route, level 13 out of 20. I'll let you know how it goes. That used to be an extremely easy workout, but I'm anticipating plenty of sweat tonight.

Mid week "long" run this morning. Did my neighborhood route twice. 9.25m, 1:20, 8:44 pace. I need a 8:45pace to BQ. So I'm thinkin' maybe, just maybe, it'll happen this time... If not, I'll age up in a couple more years.

Did you miss me? Did you notice I was gone?

I crack myself up.

Went on vacation had some terrible workouts, missed some workouts, feel like junk. Now I am back to work and it would appear that I may actually be getting sick for real, but damn it I want to ride my bike!

Hope everyone else's day is going by with a

Reverse brick today for no particular reason. I lie.

4 mile run with hill repeats and 45 spinning on the stationary bike. I am considering doing my first ever duathlon at Nationals here in Richmond so this was a teaser workout.

Hi all,

I have 1 hr date on the TM at the club tonight. Have to say getting back to all this stuff is draining. I hope my energy starts picking up soon! Not sure what or how I am gonna do it all when it will be warm enough to bike, and I get my butt in the pool. The running is all I can do right now.....

Usual 5.1 mile lunch route - 41:45ish (8:10-8:15 miles).

Felt pretty good considering it's the first run in 2+ weeks. Definitely a taste of spring day here in the 'Mouth - low 40's, sun, and crisp breeze - probably made the run feel better than it otherwise would have!
