On this day in 1904, Theodor Seuss Geisel, who wrote and illustrated the popular 'Dr. Seuss' children's books, was born.

Lazy morning. Motivation lagging. Seem low on energy - not sure I've completely carbo re-loaded yet - clearing the driveway yesterday afternoon wore me out!! Gonna take it easy - maybe get a run this afternoon with the dawg. Gotta get out of this funk...

"Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them."

15.75 miles long easy run for me and DW. Went well, not as tough on the legs as last week's 15 miler. got a bit of ankle pain at 12 mile mark but it passed really quickly.

Fishbowl for me this morning. They forgot to unlock the door, so I didn't get into the pool until after 7am. Meaning I didn't have time for my full workout before I'd get kicked out for the class. WU 200, MS 100, 200, 300, 300, 200, 100, CD 300. 41:05. Suspect my counting was off, though. Did I miss one of the sets? Did I mess up on counting? Who knows. Decent swim, so I'll take it.

Funny thing, though. All lanes were taken this morning. Lane 1 was a lady who wears so much hair spray I nearly gag every time I pass her. I had lane 2. Lane 3 was a guy that I end up passing a lot. Lane 4 was someone doing aerobics. Well, a couple comes in and is waiting for a lane. Every time I rested at the wall, they assumed I was getting out, then got pissed when I continued. Finally, hair spray lady gets out and they get in. They do a couple laps, then end up spending most of their time resting at the wall. What gives?!

Waiting for son to get up so we can do our ride. Yet again we'll be going out with a TW, meaning IB will be a HW...

I'm going to make stitcher go down the water slides in a few weeks.

In May the outdoor pool will open. More waterslides and a MARKED OFF LAP AREA!

Trainer ride and short run after I take kids to a 1st grade sledding party.
Who, in their right mind, invites an entire first grade class to their house???
Calves are sore from skiing yesterday with DS.

Why I can post in Rhyme
I can talk in it all the time
This morning I did my Run
It was really lots of Fun
Especially as we had some Sun
Although the wind did Blow
And I didnt Know
So I wore my peaked baseball hat
It blew off and a car ran it flat
and now I am a little sad
and perhaps a little mad
But then I realised that I shouldnt care
because -as you are all aware
I will soon have my new Team L.I.T. Hat
and then I will look like that Cat
No not the one in the hat
but the one who had all the cream
If you know what I mean
And now I really must go
as the kids are shouting so
Its either they are playing with the ball
or perhaps they have had a fall.
I have decided that I must be a poet
although from this you wouldnt know it
So one and all have a nice day
until again its time to play
Thats all from your friend called Neil
whos off to suck on some Orange peel

Did not end up doing my 6 hour brick . Now I can't get it in today as I'm taking my daughter to a little league clinic, then flying to Helsinki. So new plan for IMAZ training is I'll count this week as a recovery week. I got 16 hours in this week as the recovery, just coming off of three hard weeks, two 20+ hours before this.

Next three weeks will be 20+ peak phase, I'll do the long brick next weekend, and after that I'll be in taper mode for the final 3 weeks. It will be a challenge to get in 20 hours next week due to travel but is doable. I just need to blow off my collegues... now problem.

I did a 55 minute run today to get 16 hours even for the week. Almost got hit by a car . Flipped the guy off and I stood there hoping he'd come back. Man I was mad, he was more concerned about missing the ice on the road and almost swerved into me.

Be careful everyone, have a good week!

Good job on the rhyme Neil. Truly inspiring.

Woke up again today with beaucoup energie! Up at 5 for a 17 mile run. I did not negative split it though. That was my plan, but the second 1/2 ended up taking just over a minute longer than the first half. Oh well.

LRR: I'm sending you some waves of energy<<<<***********>>>>>
No I'm not sure how that's supposed to represent energy, but just go with it. I suppose I could just simply say E=MC2

Good news: It was in the upper 20's at the start of my run 27 degrees! For all you warm weather freakos, I was thinking of you. I was wearing lightweight running tights, 1 long sleeved tech shirt, a light windbreaker, gloves, and an earwarmer band. The gloves came off at mile 5. A short while later the jacket got unzipped halfway. Thought about taking off my earwarmer band, but the wind, though not high, was brisk and steady enough to convince me to keep my ears covered.

Got to work on the early side, and I got so much done yesterday that I'll probably be able to leave by 12:30. It will be like a day off. Woohoo!

Back to work, with a sudden inexplicable urge for green eggs and ham.

Rare weekend post for me.

Ran on the Great Western Trail with Joey. He was mucho excited to be going out for a run. It was 39 deg here at 8:30 am, the sun was shining and life was glorious. A couple of other runners out on the trail, which is unusual.

An hour of yoga with DW on schedule for later this afternoon. Now I'm off to cook Sunday morning breakfast and serve it to DW, who is still in bed at 10:45.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody!

I tried to go to a 90 minute spin class, but the roads were so crappy that I actually turned around.

So I have to get myself motivated for a 90 minute trainer ride. Bleh. I have a movie I could watch, so I'll probably do that.

hobey/matt - have a great time!

10 miler early in the morning. I have been suffering some serious sore throat and mildly high temp and that woke me up a lot last night, but it didn't bother me a bit during a run. Now I feel very dead ... What bothered me, however, was the R foot .
