On this day in 1979, the Bee Gees topped the charts with "Too Much Heaven". On the same date in 1978, they were also on top of the charts with "How Deep is Your Love".

Whether you were a Disco Star or a Disco Hater, you couldn't escape the influence of the brothers Gibb. Lost in their glitzy falsettos were some great lyrics too...

There's a light, A certain kind of light, That never shone on me
I want my life to be lived with you

Its only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart away

Nobody gets too much heaven no more, Its much harder to come by, I'm waiting in line

And check out their string of Grammy Awards...

No workout for me yet. I have insomnia so I'm playing with the graphics for Team LIT.

1 hour on the bike later today. If the weather is OK then I'll ride outside, if not it's trainer time.

With family in town, it's another busy day for me.

To bed late and up early for...

1 hour Trainer session:
o WU - 20 min (still reading "A Place Called Freedom" by Ken Follett, an amazing writer)
o 5 x 5' G7 w/3' rest
- Pushed average of 268W. Still using old bike. Will put Tri-bike on soon as I can change tires. That will be my cue for starting base build in full.
Followed immediately by...

4 mile brick run. Legs felt amazing when they should have felt tired.

I want Thor's legs which don't feel tired when they are suppposed to feel tired! (who doesn't?)

15 miles including 12 miles at MP. Target MP was 8:10-15. Based on the 3 mile warmup and how my legs felt, I knew it wouldn't be ease to keep that. Well, it wasn't easy but ended up at ave. 8:01. When I found my pace I didn't want to slow down. This may come back and bite me next week when I do 7-mile at LT pace.... I don't think I can keep 8:01 pace for the entire 26.2 but I felt the same way when I did the same run (at different pace) for the last *serious* marathon training (04 Detroit). So who knows. I won't be running 43mpw for the marathon week, either.

It was a very very foggy morning and I needed to jump on snow pile a few times to 'Stayin' Alive'!!

Fishbowl first thing this morning. Timed it so I was there when the aerobics class was there. No creepy guy today!!! 1600 in 42:something. Not a whole lot in the tank.

Home long enough to pick up the bike. 45' so perfect weather for a real ride. However, I went out with a kicker of a tailwind, which of course meant I was eating the wind inbound... 22.3m in 1:28. Not impressive, but I'll take it.

Brought bike inside, changed shoes, dropped jackets, and off for my run. Ug... legs were DEAD. Decided to make the best of it. Shocked by the data. 2.03m, 16:30, 8:08pace. Not a PR for this route, but one of my better times. Not bad, considering how tired I was feeling!

Just got done with one hour on the trainer watching Curious George with DS (he's still in the garage..LOL). Mostly Z1/Z2 spinning with some Z3 super spins mixed in. Why do I feel like I'm working harder than my HR implies?

Just back in from an 11 mile run. Ran into town past a bunch of my old hangouts. Jumped the fence at my highschool track and discovered they now have an allweather track. Did a couple laps and ran the stadium steps a couple times just for old times sake.

Enjoy all.

Hi All,

Not a good couple of days for me. On Thursday afternoon I was feeling a bit tired. By 7PM that night my whole body ached, I could get warm no matter what I wore, and I had energy to do little more than lay on the couch.

I spent all Friday and most of Saturday sleeping. I'm mostly recovered now, but get tired early. I don't think I'll try to workout till later this week. I'm not in a rush.

The good news is I didn't eat anything for a 36 hours or so and dropped 5 lbs. Yeah, we'll see how long that stays off. Stay healthy and take your vitamin C.

13.1 miles today. Orange County Half Marathon. PR! But didn't do enough long runs and upper hamstrings and lower glutes got sore around mile 10 and my stride shorted up, pace dropped off and didn't make sekrit goal of under 2 hours. 2:04 is still pr by 3 minutes though.

Wonder if more long slow runs would have made my hamstrings strongers.

First bike ride in over a month. Did a whole 12.5 miles at 15 mph pace in 40F temp, and was DYING!!! OMG am I out of shape. My quads were quivering and I felt like I was going to hurl. At 15 mph!! Ugh.

Knees seem okay, but I'm reserving judgment until tomorrow since the pain often shows up the next day for some reason. Pray for me.
