On this day in 1985, Ricky Nelson is killed in a plane crash. It's widely reported that the last song he ever played was Buddy Holly's "Rave On".

Post-patriots sleep-in for me and the family. Plan to get out for a run with the M-Dawg after church.

Supposed to run 1:20

yesterday did 2 hr spin 1 day post cold, not so sure I waited long enough. Got roped into taking Xmas Decos down, so been doing that. I think I'll nap and then see if I feel like a run. It's great temps out here, 28 and sunny... I just haven't got the motivation right now and I fear maybe I am not recovered enough.

Ok, I'm glad you guys found this site.......it is much better than the active/CR thing!

Today is the first day I've been online in about 2 weeks. I have been on vacation and busy with Christmas and family.

Today I'm doing a local 1mile race with my 6 YO Son. It's his first and he is REALLY excited! I can't wait. Later a trainer workout....hills probably

Happy Holidays everyone!

Just another easy 2 miler in the snow. Probably going back around Garner Park again - I discovered a neat little duck pond there yesterday that made running in the snow seem not so bad.

Maybe doing a shorter spin on the rollers later. We'll see. Definitely a biking day tomorrow, but the legs could use that active stretching after this re-introduction of running.

4 mile run for me sometime today. Possibly a date with the stationary bike, but not sure yet. Other than that, it's a day for piddly little stuff like taking down the Christmas tree, etc.

Have a good one Tri-Kickers!

Sorry you aren't feeling well, Ron. Rest up, and hopefully it'll pass soon.

Julie - good luck to you and your son on the race today.

3-4 mile run this morning around the hood. I may have worked off a glass of wine from last night. But, a week of gluttony is sticking around my middle! I'm looking foward to getting back on a regular schedule of eating right and exercising.

Happy day everyone!

I must run....must must must...
BUT, it's in the low 40's and raining....hard enough to soak your shoes. Some drizzle, but mostly good steady medium hard rain that is desperately needed. I hope some of this is hitting the NC/SC/GA/AL areas as well.

So, I may have to break out the dreadmill in the spare room....and pound along over the top of my parents heads.

38F here meant I broke out the shorts for 6-1/4 miles with just me and the M-Dawg. I know Gator Girl and The Muffin Queen were out at the same time, but didn't spot them. And there was a rumor that Iron Boy needed a "Recovery Run" after his 50k yesterday, but I didn't spot him either. Dog pooped twice. Life is good.

Thanks all for the cyber hugs and well wishes after my Grandpa passed away.

I slept in this morning. I had set the alarm clock when I went to bed. I woke in the middle of the night and just shut the thing off. This sinus infection/bronchitis, plus the week at Grandma's/total lack of sleep has done a number on me. Yah, I know the "don't run with a chest cold" thing, but given the stress I'm under, I need to run.

Hit the fish bowl later than planned. There's a water aerobics class that takes half the pool. Luckily, there was only one other swimmer so I didn't have to share my lane. 2000 or 2200 in 59mins. I think. Whatever, it was a good swim and I need it.

Then I took Ruby out for a spin. Santa brought me a nice pair of booties which kept my piggies nice and warm! Fun little spin through the neighborhood, to the bike path to my turn around and back. Fun little climb towards the end. If Buckeye is around, he would know it--Worthington Hills. Lowest gear and have to stand to get up it. Quite unimpressive numbers: 23m in 1:32, 14.8average. But, hey, I needed this ride!

Yeah, that didn't happen. I counted 36 folks bobbing around in the pool when I got there. That is for 6 unroped lanes, 2 of which were sort of closed because of diving board use.

Tri starts is one thing, but that kind of crowd when I am trying to learn how to swim? I don't think so. Of the 36, I counted 5 that were actually lap swimming. The rest were just messing around, swimming here and there, mostly diagonal. I passed.

Oh Kay first the football game report.

Was that 2nd attempt 65 yd TD pass just the cat's ass or WHAT? Who but Belechick, Brady, and Moss could have pulled a stunt like that.

And then this...what the heck was up with that excessive celebration call? I mean, come on, he just tied the NFL record. I thought it was darn mild.

Glad I got my longish run in yesterday. After eating a plate of ribs as big as my head, and drinking too many glasses of wine like they were beer, I had a big plate of eggs, bacon, muffins, and milk, and went for my easy 6M. Ugh, it was harder than yesterday's 11, and even at a snail's pace, my HR was 10 beats too high!

Boo patriots! (I'm a diehard Cowboy fan, here, and I hope we get a chance to hand y'all your first loss at the big game. )

I went to the gym this morning and ran 3.5 miles on the mill, and did some much needed strength training. I'm such a slacker on that. I do a little like every two months.

Got back from the hockey game at 2 AM....Michigan won in the 2nd OT (woohoo!!!!). Slept in, went to mass, went to breakfast. Just now got back from a 6.2 mile run. Roads were OK...a bit slushy, some ice, mostly dry. Weather is nice, cold, and dry.

I did have an early AM 10+ mile run planned for today, but my wife is sick and was coughing and blowing her nose all night long. So we both slept in and I got out for a run at noon, which meant I had to keep it shorter.

Still, I had a great run. I've been running 8+ minute miles, but managed 8 at 7:36.

Wow, pcsronbo, taking down the decorations already. We are still dealing with Christmas dinner leftovers. But I'm doing a good job of finishing the cookies before the New Year starts.

OK....I"m dressed.....we'll see if a cold rain will do me in or not.
Luckily, the road I'll be on doesn't have much more in the way of traffic than the random cow or two.
It's a little creepy, though, they follow you with their heads as you go by.
