On this day in <span style="font-size:larger;"><b>1876</b></span> The first successful voice transmission over Alexander Graham Bell's telephone took place in Boston as his assistant heard Bell say, "Mr. Watson, come here. I want you."<br><br>
2100y easy swim this morning. Legs were trashed after this weekends long bike and long run, thank goodness this was a recovery swim.<br><br>

Hell Monday then brick.<br>
I did good on the run. Yay, negative split.<br><br>
It was cold, but I felt good in just bike shorts a long sleeve shirt and a fleece jacket. Less than I normally wear in the same temps, but I think getting the body temp up during the trainer workout helped with things.

Good morning!! In the pool this morning for 2900 yards. Felt a bit like a slug, but I suspect I'm still feeling that lost hour of sleep. I actually did a pilates video before heading to the pool, but I was a bit bored with it. I need some ideas for a good ab workout that will take me no more than 30 minutes. Anyone?

4 mile run early this chilly morning. Some icy patches from all the flooded basements being drained to the streets. This is not uncommon where I live, as the water table is very high while the land low. Followed by...<br><br>
40 lap steady swim. Was intending to do drills but, well, slipped into a zone and let it glide. Decent pull, felt the water pretty good. Easy pace. Swam in lane next to Master of None!<br><br>
Great day, Tri-peeps!

stitch - negative split, WTG!<br><br>
Wk3 of buildup. Power session on a trainer for 65 min total (low rpm interval 1/1 off x 12, then 20 min at tempo). Legs are heavy from yesterday's 16 miler (of which 2 miles toward the end at LT pace). I had to lighten the gear in order to maintain 50rpm. Then I couldn't bring up HR to the tempo level because of tired legs being the limiter. Some interesting discoveries as to how legs, HR, and a previous day's workout affect each other. I will have to adjust my trainer workout if I resume a *real* marathon training. Will see after tomorrow's run interval workout.

Overslpet this morning due to a late night so I missed my regular training group. Thor kept avoiding the line I was trying to toss over him for a tow from the next lane.<img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"><br>
200 yard warm-up<br>
200 yards of drills (25's breathing on only right followed by only left). I hate breathing on my right side.<br>
4x100 intervals on 1:15 (all under a minute)<br>
200 yard pull<br>
4x100 intervals on 1:10 (all under a minute)<br>
250 yard swim (w/o called for 200 but I bumped it up to distance of Marblehead race)<br>
200 yard cooldown<br><br>
Have a great day

Holy Carp!! I have a PR of 1:12 for 100 and I thought that put me in the slightly above average category. If you're doing your 100's in less than a minute, I must <img alt="notworthy.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/notworthy.gif">! That's on par with the times some of the small college swimmers around here post. Great job! I second what Yoshiko said!

You, LRR, and me... all doing Marblehead. <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"><br><br>
Pool swim is chaotic. Bike is on the hilly side but is over before you can gear up and down too much. And run is a bit challenging with two hills. Fun early season race, though.

Big time typo. I just reread my posting and saw the 100's. In my dreams. These were 50's. Sorry about. Can not even master typing today. Good thing I am writing doc for the day. <img alt="confused5.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/confused5.gif">
