Let me start the week with a chant for my New England friends:
La-la-la-laa-laaa
La-la-la-laa-laaa
Yay-ay-ay
Gooood Byee!

14-6 is so much better than 18-1!

Later today I'll probably hit the pool. Or go for a run. As soon as I wake up from my hangover.

I LOVE the Patriots. Have for years. But I also have tons of respect for Eli Manning so I am very happy for him. No longer will he live in his brother's shadow!!!! So I won either way!!

Me: It's DH's birthday so we are skiing all day to celebrate. And just for you Neil, here is a link:

http://www.skicrystal.com/

It's way better than where we have been going!! I'ts a 90 minute drive but will be worth it.

jkaiser20, I got up around midnight to check the computer too. And ran smack into my trainer. Just a few smashed toes. But it was worth it. The Giants won, WOOHOO!

I have no real loyalties, except to the Steelers because Ben grew up next door to my parents. BUT, I was so glad to see that Pats get knocked off because some of their fans were being total jerks.

Rest day for me. So nice to sleep in until 7:30!

Good morning all.

I had a nice tempo run this morning. 6 miles with a 4 mile progressive run in the middle (6:57 - 6:45 - 6:44 - 6:30) It felt pretty good to put some hard miles in.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did especially with the Patriots getting knocked off last night!!

Although the Pats have never been one of my favorite teams (due to the "tuck rule" b.s. win they got over the Raiders), I was pulling for them last night. I just want someone to make the 72 Dolphins shut up. Still, it was a great game and I'm happy for the Giants.

2300yd swim this morning...still focusing on the 3 stroke breathing and it's getting a lot easier:
500 warmup,
400 drills,
10x100 on :20 rest (1:30 avg),
400 cooldown.

45 min spin on the trainer this afternoon.

Great workouts to all!!

Saw a few funny commercials during the SB, but that's about it. I wonder when the Bears will be back. 2020?

This morning hill repeats, nothing better to start the week.

80 min run with hill repeats(easy, medium, hard pace):
set 1 (time, AHR): (2:13, 155), (1:54, 160), (1:46, 166)
set 2 (time, AHR): (2:06, 157), (1:54, 166), (1:45, 175)
set 3 (time, AHR): (1:54, 157), (1:53, 166)
little slow during the first set, then picked it up on 2 and 3.

later today 40 minute recovery spin on computrainer and swim strength. Snowed again last night, shoveled this morning. Lots of work this week

Great game last night with a not-so-great-for-me result. Still, I'm a fan of sport, and I'd rather see a good game than a route, and that's what we got. It was two teams knocking each other where one popped to the top by playing better smash-mouth styled play. The better team on the day won. And good for Manning. Think about how proud Archie must be, with one son who won MVP of the Super Bowl this year and his other last year. Wow. That's cool. So good for him and good for the Giants. Wished my Patriots would have finished the opportunity in front of them, but the Giants had a better game, probably a better game plan, and more momentum coming in. The better team on the day won. No question about it.

Me...

4 mile run early this morning. I think I found the most hilly 4-mile route in my town, bar none. Half way through I saw Green Bay Boy -- remember him? -- finishing his run as he was walking up a street I assumed to be where he lives. I didn't bother waving because, history has taught me over and over and over again, he won't say hello back or even grant a wave. Followed by...

40 lap swim. I wanted to do more proper speed intervals but had to resort to pickups at tempo pace because my arm hasn't healed enough to allow that added stress. Maybe next time. Bumped into Master of None in the locker room. We complained about the Patriots and vowed to get 'em next year!

Happy Monday, Tri-sleepy-ones!

It's a tough morning here in Pats land. As a lifelong fan I'm disappointed but I had a great time watching the games all season. DH and I even got to go to a game at Gillette which was a total blast. Now what am I going to do on Sundays?? Train more I guess.

Later today - run and strength work.

Great game last night, and although I had no loyalties either way, I'm happy for Eli.

Swimming tonight for me. Still waiting for left knee to be pain free all day, it's fine every morning and slowly starts to hurt through the afternoon.

I am officially falling apart. First the ankle which is slowly feeling better but still a bit swollen and sore. Now I'm laid up in bed with a sinus headache from hell...eh, must have been the hangover I should have had yesterday.

So nothing for me today except sleep and fluids.

On the ankle front, I figure I'll lay off running and may do some swimming and easy spinning until it feels better. No Coach Troy for a while.

knocked out the 3 miles plus some weights. Now i am taking care of a sick kid. I would rather be at work than taking care of sick kids, they are no fun. He is starting to feel better i think he just asked to go to Mountain Mikes for the pizza buffet lunch. I think the diet may be shot if i give in and i am already leaning towards going.
