Well they finally got the pool maintenance done up here and I was all set to do a swim today when I discovered I had not brought a pair of goggles up with me. Since the nearest swim shop is probably 400 miles away, I guess I'm not swimming this hitch either.

So instead I just did an hour on the treadmill. 8 miles, easy pace. My achilles felt fine, kept the incline at zero. Foam roller for 10 min after.

Have a great week everyone!

5 mile run early this morning. Pushed pace pretty good. Call it a tempo run.

FYI: I've been stupid busy at work and home, so my time on the boards will continue to dwindle. I'll likely just come in and out of the daily bread thread and a few select others (where I feel I can add value) when I have time.

Great day!

Happy Monday!!!

Mike- You want that someone ship you some goggles? Hate to have you feeling left out with all the fun that can be had following the black line?

Today- ahhhhhhh a rest day. Although I am taking the dog for a walk this afternoon. I know I'll need to stretch out after work. I'm sore this morning.

Easy trainer spin after work, swimming this evening. Left calf feels good today, but I don't want to push my luck, so no running until later this week.

Looking forward to some race reports!

Much needed rest day today. So sore from not only the riding and running I did, but also the 50 or so dives I did off of the 1m spring board at our pool. My arches are killing me and so is my forehead. I guess everything in moderation...should have stopped after about 20 dives.

Mike - sounds like a totally different world you are living a few weeks at a time. I bet you can find some weird races out there...

After racking up 13+hrs of fun last week, I am debating if I should take a complete rest day or not. I found out I had 5 more weeks to go (not 4) to the Natl. So keeping going hard like this is probably not a smart idea and needing one easy week somewhere. Will have to figure out the training plan. May run 5mile or so easy today.

DH maintains overall standing of 1st spot after yesterdays MTB race (TT) in spite of a flat toward the end and riding on the rim and finishing 5th. One more to go to get an entry to Iceman!

Rest day! Not feeling too bad. Just the expected soreness. And I got terrible sunburn yesterday. Uh, it's the end of August. I've been out in the sun sans sun screen all freakin' summer. And NOW I get sunburned?!

Distances are approximate as I was on the streets of Louisville and not on a track. But I *did* get 5000 total.

Ran for 2:21 late this morning in the rain and drizzle. HR zn 2 pace, so only 11.67 miles. But it felt okay, so I'll take it!

3900 yds at masters this morning, nothing too hard, mostly moderately paced long stuff. I did a lot of running this weekend, so my legs were happy! I am really pleased that my long runs feel really good lately - I did 20 on Saturday, then a 6-ish mile recovery run Sunday am and had no issues. Hopefully nothing breaks before the marathon....

Rest day yesterday seems to have taken care of my squawking shins or maybe it was the wine and food enjoyed with friends last night. In any case, I laced them up today for 5. Felt pretty good.

Thanks, but no. I have spare goggles at home and three weeks out from my IM, two missed swim workouts won't make a hill of beans difference. Thanks for the offer tho!

1 Hour of intervals on the bike trainer. Legs felt good, but I rememberedI hate the trainer. i think I am going to look into a new seat for the winter, as I'm not loving mine anyway. 1hr felt easy and I could have gone longer and I should have, but I'm trying not to tax things right now with they yard work.

Ok, I'm quoting my own post.. Question. it seemed like my HR was jumping up pretty eaily compared to how my legs felt. However, even with my HR that high, my breathing never felt "hard." I pretty much rode the trainer when very tired during IM training so I'm out of practice of what it SHOULD feel like. Sound right?
