Record setting 2,500y lap swim this morning!

1,200y Forrest Gump warm-up (punctuated after 650y by a conversation with Ironboy who was just showing up).

4 x 50y on 1:15 (0:48, 0:48, 0:49, 0:50)

300y pull buoy

300y drill up, swim back (2x l, r, catch up)

250y flippers

250y cool down

The 2,500y is a distance record and the 0:48 is a record for 50y by 3 seconds! I was fish-like!! (OK, it's a relative thing.)

Here comes The King, here comes the big Number One!
Congratulations on another record-setting session, John!

Easy 5 miler this morning, splashing and getting splashed, and slipping for the entire time. Hate running in water, mud, snow piles. Enough of this weather.

Arrived in Naples, FL yesterday, bike made it ok. When to the LBS to figure out where to ride.

AM: 45 minute zone 1 run. I actually wore a singlet out!

Then 90 minute ride: 27.7 something miles. Not bad considering I stopped several times trying to figure out where I was. This was my first ride outdoors this year. Legs felt powerful from all the trainer riding.

Later OWS in the gulf. Can't wait! Happy training everyone!

Anyone have experience with moving to a high elevation? I'm moving to over 5000ft in 5 wks (colorado)! And I'm nervous about my workouts. I've run there before, and I could run forever, just very slowly. I know it will be frustrating and I'm not looking foward to it.

Sorry about the original daily workout post for today. Guess I still thought it was Thursday.

B-day went good last night. Pizza was delicious as always and my wife's grandmother made the cake...a peanut butter cake....YUM!!!! I got this: http://www.rocketsciencesports.com/Elite_Bag_Page.php from my parents. I actually don't have it yet because it was on back order, but is supposed to be delivered today according to DHL!

In the middle of a very busy day for me. Few workouts, work, CLOSING ON MY OLD HOUSE (can you say new aero wheels!), back to work, wedding crap, oh my.

Lord John, Run'nForT3: You guys are seriously kicking butt in the pool. Keep up the great work. Lord John, this morning, as I slipped out of the pool, right after waving goodbye, I paused to catch a glimpse at your tight a$$. But what I saw amazed me. Where you used to slap and fight the water to move forward, you were seriously gliding through it. Nice job! And 48 sec is AWESOME!

After struggling to get up with serious sleepies...

3+ mile easy slog in the pouring rain with, oh hey, there's a snow flake. Amazingly, I stayed fairly dry. Followed by...

41 lap steady swim. Too little energy coupled with too much on the mind to count intervals. So I pulled a "Gump" swim two lanes over from Lord John. Avg. 57-58 secs per 50 yards. Easy swim. But my tempo isn't all that much faster.

Did you know that this year is the 100th anniversary of the song "Take Me Out to the Ballgame?" It is.

30 minute trainer ride this am. It wasn't much but it was better than nothing. This week has been hard and tomorrow we head to Colorado for 5 days for a wedding.

One of my former students married August Busch IV. The beer at that wedding was outstanding & plentiful. Her dad & I work together so A-B products are the beverages of choice at social functions around here.

Good morning all! Looks like some good workouts already -

Congrats on the house closing Thor - remember to keep your sense of humor through all the stress!

Master's swim this morning - I think we did somewhere around 2500-3000, I'm not sure - we did a lot of sprint work, and for the last set of 50's our coach had us doing sprints off the starting block. Been a while since I've done that! Anyway, tough workout, and I'm sure I'll feel it in my shoulders tomorrow!

A little crosstraining day for me - I'm home and painting dd's room. I'm a mess! Yellow paint everywhere

Happy Friday everyone

1hr spin, w/ 4x6min @ 40-50cad & Z3 HR - fun
for the Power Folk - I was pushing 200watts for sets 1-3 and since HR kept dropping too low, I did 4th at 215. I probably should have done 205, 210, 215, 220 to get the properly pain that this workout entailed but hey. I Felt I could easily hold the 200 at that HR for hours. Wasn't easy but wasn't as bad as CC made it out to be - so there!

I have done nothing yet. I am in Ohio... on the OSU campus with my sister at her lab (she's a grad student). I am swimming at the OSU pool in their RPAC this afternoon and I am so excited.

In the OTHER pool I am interested in these days (March Madness) I am SUCKING. I had picked Tennessee to beat Duke in the championship game. So I am SCREWED.

Nice easy 4 mile run after work. Blew about 2 pounds (1 kilogram for those who speak good the metric) of snot out. Fairly dehydrated since I was in 4 straight hours of teleconference to end today. I need to plan ahead and bring a camelbak for those days. It is just me on this end so I can't just boogie. Of course, if I stay hydrated then that brings up another problem. Going on the bike is one thing, sitting behind my computer is another.

2500-meter swim at lunchtime.
500 warm up
400 pull; 2x200 k/s
300 pull; 2x150 k/s
200 pull; 2x100 k/s
100 pull; 2x50 k/s
Should have run too, yesterday or today, but Bannon's knees told my knees to lay off, and they seem wise on this kind of stuff, so I'm going with that advice. Long run tomorrow and long ride Sunday, so that will be plenty for my legs!

Happy Friday everyone. I'm off to raid the snack closet at work. Increased exercise has me famished this week.
