Some of you are just waiting for somebody to start the daily thread, aren't you?

90min ride in cold cold morning, lower 50's or even 40's. Should have had more than shorts/short sleeve.... I couldn't shift toward the end of the ride. 5x5min hard effort with full recovery. I couldn't even ave. >20mph during the 5min. and it was a discouraging, pathetic ride. I am again getting caught in the #s....and getting not happy.. I know. Just got to be patient and keep at it to get a better rider, even on the trail.

With kids starting the school next week, I think this is it for an early morning 90min workout. I have started enjoying it.. but I am not crazy enough to start early enough to be back home to get the kids ready for school.

May run or swim later. Or take the rest day off. This morning ride tells me I am tired.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Yoshi: That chilly morning weather is coming my way tonight. Should be chilly for the morning's run. I don't like it. I'd much rather sweat it out in a Tri-top. And by the way, let go of the numbers. You can only be who you are. And you can only get stronger and faster to what you're capable of. Striving for numbers can make you faster; but having unrealistic notions of what those numbers mean is to set yourself up for disappointment and, ultimately, failure. I know you know that but figured I'd reinforce it since, after all, you mentioned it. You're doing great. Keep on keeping on. But be smart. And make sure to rest. Because gains are minimal without rest.

I'm GMT -9 so when I start the daily thread, you know that some people are slacking off!

1 hr 15 min on the exercise bike this morning. 10 min WU @ 120 watts, 1 hr @ 180 watts, 5 min CD @ 120 watts. Then some foam roller work. Achilles is responding well, I'll be ready to rock and roll come Sept 12th!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Some sort of run sometime today. Was going to go during lunch, but now we're apparently having a staff meeting in that time slot.

Time trial last night went well, but it was too windy to nail another new PR - darn it! Very solid effort, though, I was super close to barfing at the end. Oh - and I started 6th off the line (30 sec intervals) and was 1st to the turnaround and 1st across the line. That was pretty neat!

early morning ride today. I started out from home at 5am to meet the rest of the group for 5:30. The orginial plan was a longer version of our normal week day ride but plans changed as we met up. I had planned on dropping off to head home which I did but it was a little shorter than expected. But at least I got out there and spun some miles. Broke down last night and got a new light. I am thinking of cutting back the weight room visits to 1 per week and riding / runnign the rest of the time. Rides may not be too long but I will take what I can get.

Bike commute/run day.

Usual 17 miles in - mid 18s.

Decided to mix it up a bit and run at lunch. 5 miles in 41 mins (8:12 pace). I'll take it, considering it was only my 5th run in July/August (and first since August 4th). Probably could have pushed a bit faster if it wasn't for tummy acting up a bit (guess it wasn't used to the pounding).

Off to go camping in CT for the weekend. Maybe fit a 40-45 mile ride in, otherwise taking it easy.

Me, headed to pool stooopid early only to find it C-L-O-S-E-D! CRAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP I forgot. Didn't they check my schedule before they decided this? BASTARDS! It's supposed to open again today but maintenance didn't tell management if it was done and maintenance doesn't get their LA-Z Azzes in until 7 and it's before 6... Harumph!

So I did core work and stretching, which I needed anyway, then off for my 30min run easy. first half 12:48 pace @ 135 HR (NICE) and second half 11:05 @ 153 (that's speedi4me)

Walked around checked out the pool - still closed dammit :( Ok, I'll go to work and see if I can bail early.

I get done getting cleaned up and take one more look at the pool... cuz I just KNOW I won't probably make it tonight and.... THERE ARE WATER WALKERS! Never so happy to see someone inthe pool! So off go the dress clothes and I get my swim in (yes I did put on a suit... they really don't like repeats of that kind of activity.... anyway I digress).

700 of w/up stuff

40x25y sprints @ 17-20 mostly 19-20

Walk/run with a friend. She's injured and I needed a recovery effort after 3 running days this week (yay me!) and a long run planned Sat. Loving this fall weather, but unfortunately we are headed back into the 90s next week.

60min run around 5pm that felt like I was on the edge of a major bonk for most of the time. Was still feeling full from lunch, so didn't have a banana before heading out, had no gels or chews with me and had only water in the handheld. Slowed it down and even walked when I needed to. Oof.
