Good morning Team LIT!

Bonnie - I am thinking of you and your sons. Wish something could ease your pain.

Jingle Bell 5K in the historic Northville Downtown. And drum roll please....... Big Shiny PR at 21:14 (6:51pace)!!!!!!!!!!! 1st AG. Woohoooo!!!! And DH was just several seconds behind me - I could hear his Yoga breathing (yeah loud one) 1/4miles away from the finish and that helped me to kick in the higher gear. He got massive PR and getting faster every race, finished 4th. My 'fastest in the household' status in jeopady. And DS also had a solid race. First sub-9pace 5K and solid 6th place in '12 and under'. His 10K last week (Turkey Trot) must have been a good training run, yeah first run in a few months. And this is, I think, his first race he ran by himself (w/o parent). WTG DiGi!!

Oh, K-swiss shoes has passed the test successfully (see the yesterday's daily for more )

6.2 miles through 3 inches of snow, with group. Just snowed here for the first time this year. Shoveled, built a snowman, had a snowball fight, need to shovel again.

Awesome run Yoshiko!!!

Easy 5 miler for me this morning. I came home from my run to the smell of bacon and coffee and the boys made me unwrap a brand new professional Belgian waffle iron. They're making waffles for breakfast! Going to "A Christmas Story" on stage later and then dinner!

Woo hoo Yosh!

Our Toys for Tots 5/10k was today.

I had registered for the 10k awhile ago, but due to "life" didn't get the steady sort of training that I would have liked to have had under my belt.

But, it's for a great cause, and it's local, so I sucked it up and ratcheted down the goal to "supported training long run".

Good idea.

Great weather....sunny day, lo 40s when I left the house, and the day warmed up nicely.

I ended up wearing compression shorts and a long sleeve tech shirt as race gear.

I ran into a dude who graduate from my undergrad instituation, and was there while I was there.

Turns out, his best friend was a guy I dated a bit. WoW~!!! We talked about going back in two springs for the marathon there...... I've never trained for a spring marathon before, and I'm thinking that doing long runs in the cold has GOT to be better than doing them in the heat.

I had a slight miscalculation regarding the appropriate time to have the last bolus of water prior to race start and ended up needing to look for a secluded and bush-enclosed area of the course. This route is through neighborhoods, though, so not a ton of non-exposed locales .... that weren't also someone's front lawn. I finally found a spot to duck into the bushes only to realize that it was full of pricker bushes. I'm REALLY hoping that it wasn't poisonous pricker bush! So, I have tons of scratches all over my legs from my trek into the woods.

I got some thumbs up from people at the end of the race. They thought that I'd fallen.....and gotten back up!!! he he he. What they don't know won't hurt them, right?

I pretty much decided that a regular, steady pace..... even effort.... manage the hills (including the final hill to the finish that was 1 mile long)....and it would be a good day.

It was a good day.

I only had to walk in/out of the bushes and through the water stops. I still haven't mastered drinking and running. I'm getting better about not snarffing it up my nose, but now need to work on swallowing. I can do it from a bottle, but not froma cup.

Anyway...... then, off to the grocery to get supplies for the wrapping party that I"m having tomorrow.

Resting......

brownie making.....

SEC championship game.....

Then, I think I have to clean out the vaccuum cleaner tonight, too.

What a day.

Great job Yoshiko and Stitch!!!

I suffered through a TOUGH 10k this morning. Rookie mistake, I looked at my watch at the first mile marker. Ugly race with an uphill finish - great trails though! Not sure overall place, so I don't know my xterra points yet...but my rank is in serious jeopardy. Grrrrr.

Yoshi!! That's awesome!!! Congrats on taking the AG win and getting the PR. I can't imagine running that fast for even 1/4 mile...I think I'd implode.

Stitcher - great job on the 10K! Sorry about the bushes...ouch!!!

Nuthin' for me yet...hopefully weights tonight after the Little O's go to bed.

Good stuff all! Looks like it's coming back!

For me... let's see... slept in. That was nice :) 8.5hrs wowzer.

After some work and shovelling the driveway, I got on the dreadmill. Day 2 of new shoe/orthotics. I did 15min w/up and then 3x10 running ez @ 4.1mph with some stretching in between and walking in between.

FIB KomDo (sword class) for 45 min

FIB FOOD

FnotsoIB dreadmill part deux for 10min w/up and then 5x10 more w/ stretch breaks and such. So total time on trainer 1:50 and something like 6-7 miles. Dunno. Actually, I didn't move an inch. Something must be wrong. Treadmill is in same place it started.

Considered bagging my recovery swim, but had a window before dinner so zoomed out and got 1500 of drills in the fish bowl.
