Morning Winter and the rest of youse guys!

Pictures will be required of said dress, you know.

I don't know that I have any fun on tap today... I'm working. Which can be it's own sort of fun, sometimes. I'm not expecting any miracles, though. I'm off on Sunday, which is Fun-In-Waiting. Does that count?

Morning all.

Fun - my DS's premiere as a lead in a "real" community theater show is tonight. Not a kids show, but a regular production. I am very nervous for him, and hope he gets good reviews. Yes, he will have actual reviews in newspapers and all. Playing the young Dylan Thomas in "A Child's Christmas in Wales". That is him on the left.

Not fun - Today or Monday I should be getting a letter telling how much longer I have a job, how much severance I will get, and maybe an incentive package to stick around to work on migration projects.

Yay, Litch, I hope your son does great and has a blast.

Winter, I agree, pics are required. And I join your ranks of the long-time stay-at-home-mom now doing some very different things! And I agree that we probably learned a lot during those years! ;)

Fun for me? It is FRIDAY OF COURSE!

Yeah Goon - awesome to see you back!!

QOD: I love V8 juice. My questions: (1) do you like it? (2) do you think it is junk or nutritious? I know it has a ton of sodium and I justify because I otherwise have a very low salt diet. But I know it is a bit outrageous. What do you think?

Litch - I somehow missed that second part. That really, really sucks - so sorry to hear that. Do you have anything else in the pipeline? What a crappy time of year for that kind of thing. Not that it is ever good, but it really irks me when companies slash employees at Christmas time (whether it is terminations, pay cuts, whatever). Not cool.

Well that's a YaY!! and a Boooooo.

So, my not fun this morning is my first experience with vertigo. Wow this really sucks. Started around 5 a.m. when I rolled over in bed and the room just kept a-rolling which made me nauseous and sweaty. I thought oh how weird, and figured it'd go away but alas, no. Fortunately I had my phone with me and did some Googling to find out what my problem was, called my Mom (who unfortunately is already on the road to Indiana - Seester Goon is running the Tecumseh Trail Marathon again this year! woo hoo!) then called the kids schools to let them know I was temporarily disabled with this vertigo and not able to get things going this morning, called work, called the doctor and called a friend to drive me there - my appt isn't until 10:40 so I have plenty of time to move slowly and get dressed and ready. Actually being vertical is much better, I still get the swimmy dizzy room spinning feeling but as long as move slowly and carefully it's not as frequent or as intense. Though I'm a little scared of what the car ride will be like. I better bring a bucket. I hope it goes away fast, I don't want to spend my weekend like this!!

I love V8 - don't they have a low sodium version?

And yes, Winter in a dress pictures are a MUST SEE!

sorry about the work stuff Litch, and you know DS is going to do extremely well.

About all I have today...I do get to make an airport run to pick up Tonya tonight. Should be interesting: she forgot to take her phone with her when she left yesterday so coordinating actual arrival/deplaning time could be tricky.

Add me to the Winter-in-a-dress-pics list.

QOD: I love V8, but I don't drink it all that often any more. It's not that I worry about sodium. Frankly, I don't worry much about what I eat or drink, which is probably not good. (I just finished a donut). I just never bother to buy any V8. Back in college, though, I had a buddy who loved V8 even more than me. So we had a thing where any time we found a new kind of alcohol we liked, the first thing we'd do is see how it tasted mixed with V8. We ended up making some very good drinks... and some very nasty ones. We even named all of our concoctions. One of the best was V8 and Southern Comfort. We called that a *******. Once (we were probably really drunk already), we mixed V8 and beer. That one got called a Queasy Stomach. Probably the reason is obvious...

Another chilly day in the office. I actually have a space heater that I forgot about (someone gave it to me months ago), so I am going to plug that in and hope that it doesn't blow a fuse and knock out power for a portion of the office. The electric system in this building really was not designed for the load it gets these days, and we have had power outages before for similar reasons.

Litch- I know that this was not unexpected but it still stinks. At least you'll know what you have going forward, and not have to play guessing games. Little Litch looks great in his costume. Break a leg, Little Litch!

BigG- boo for vertigo! I hope it is something simple like an inner ear infection and not something that will become a chronic issue.

QOD- V8? meh. Not a fan of drinking it straight up but I will use it in recipes.

morning peeps.

Please please please tell me someone watched Conan last night????? OMG.

Litch, that's awful about your job. I'm so sorry. :( Your son looks great in his role though! If they put any youtube clips up, make sure you post them!

Michelle, I am so proud of you, ya know. You've really put yourself out there and done an amazing job and it's a great example to your boys. Have fun tonight! You'll look great.

QOD: I like V8. My mother drinks a lot of it, so it was always around the house. boB, I wouldn't think beer and V8 would be bad...isn't there a drink that's beer and tomato juice anyway?

Fun: tonight my friend Jess from work is going to come over and we're going to watch Scrooged, and either Elf or A Christmas Story. :)

Big G! Feel better!

KP, funny how we rely on our phones so much now, isn't it? I mean, 20 years ago...you'd call the airline to see if the flight was on time, expect your person would get through baggage in 15 mins, and park and meet them in baggage claim. I distinctly remember using a payphone within the last 15 years to call someone to make sure I could meet them after work. How times have changed.

Hey folks!!

So been getting a lovely series of emails from DH's aunt who lives in Florida. All about how sad DH's gran is because she hasn't seen us as much lately, how lonely she is cause she misses us, on and on. A guilt trip I really don't need right now!! I am sure DH's dad and brothers didn't get a similar email. I feel bad but at this point, and with the whole shingles debacle (which was made even worse by DH telling me he thinks he never had chicken pox!!) I really can't manage more than I am doing. DH keeps telling me not to worry about it, but once the baby comes, it will be worse. I am not taking a newborn to a nursing home and it will be much harder for me to go pick her up and go out with 2 little ones in tow. Hohum...

Litch so excited for your son!!! And sincerely hoping however the job stuff shakes out it is in your favor.

Goon hoping it is nothing big. Didn't someone else on here have a battle with vertigo as well?

Pics of the hottie Winter are required, for sure!!

QOD: I love regular old tomato juice. V8 is ok too. DH likes to drink bloody mary mix minus the booze :)

Not fun: Our cat has been throwing up and pooping all over the basement lately. We think she is throwing an attitude b/c our friend Greg has been there ripping up the upstairs - she is known to do this type of thing when she gets an attitude. But, since she is an old lady cat, we are taking her into the vet as her throwing up issues have gotten more common in the last couple of years. Now I'm kind of worried of what we are going to find out. Fingers crossed that she is just pissy that all of our bedrooms are torn up.

Litch - man that blows, are all hedge funds in that area of CT doing the same?

Kris, you and Moonie are trading with the cold environments, eh? Hopefully you’ll be back together soon and warming each other up

Fun: Kansas pulled off a win last night and continued their streak of 64 games won at home. Not Fun: it was a very close game and came down to a free throw w/less than a sec left on the clock

Maureen: 1) Totally agree about phones. I've only had a cell phone for 9 years and in that time totally rely on it for all communications with the outside world (no land line in the house). 2) Conan is waaaaaay past my bedtime.

Beaker - don't get me started about guilt trips from older family members.

Bard - be careful you don't get in trouble with the space heater! The facility people here and where Tonya teaches are diligent about removing them if they find them.

QOD: V8 = for me.

Maria (and anyone else) check out today's Get Fuzzy on comics.com
