morning all.

Got up at 350 this morning to come into work and drive in was fantastically clear. Here's to hoping the weather people were wrong about this weekend and that we are not going to have as bad of weather as they are predicting.

Good morning, guys. I'm up and at 'em. Just about ready to go on my way to the start. It's friggin' cold out. (30ish). So I've probably overdressed. But I guess it's better to overdress than underdress because I can always take a layer off...

I saw about the nasty weather in WI/MN on the Weather Channel this morning. Take care, you guys.

I met with one of the account execs from the agency this morning, to see what kind of scoop she could give me on the place I'm interviewing with this week. Turns out that the president of the one agency (the guy that 3 of the account execs chewed out when I was let go) is really close friends with one of the higher up people at the interview place. Leisa said Pres has a really high opinion of me, and if I was comfortable with it, she would say something to Pres, who will almost definitely call his friend and tell them to hire me.

Hay if you all have spare vibes this weekend, please pass them this way. Just found out DH's aunt is in the hosp and in an induced coma after having surgery to repair a torn esophagus. Details are sketchy because apparently her DH is being strange about the whole thing. We do know she had to be sent to 3 different hospitals till they found one that had a surgeon who could do the operation but now she is 7 hours from home and her kids can't go be with her, they are staying with a neighbor because of school. So, any good wishes would be appreciated!

Recap on my life:

1 - I've actually got most of my holiday shopping done. I just have two more stops that I think I will take care of in the morning

2 - Long work story. You can skip if you wish. My boss finally chewed out the two programmers who haven't' been looking at my work for reference. I've known this for months and kept telling them to refer to the documents I'd given them, while still answering their questions. Their drop dead date is Monday . On Friday morning they went into his office to say that they weren't going to be ready because I hadn't given them all the information that they needed and that they were just now being made aware of business rules that they didn't know before. Ha Ha! They've had them all along. I'm so glad that I cc'ed the project manager on everything. They were trying to make me the scape goat but the truth is that both of them have problems taking direction from a woman (me. I'm not the only person who has noticed it.) So, they disregarded most of what I gave them. Knowing this, I made the project manager aware of it. The project manager and I have been testing the system for the past two weeks and it's not ready. We kept sending in bug after bug, and I kept expecting to see some, at least a little, anxiety on the part of the programmers. Nada all week. When they went into my boss' office on Friday, I could hear him yelling from the other end of the floor. Don't get me wrong. I'm not happy that they got chewed out. I'm not happy that they won't be ready. I'm happy that my boss took the time, all these months to review the work that I was doing and that when push came to shove, he stood up for me.

3 - The big company Holiday party was on Friday. Very nice, I was treated to a very nice scotch and I was forced to take part in the dance off. I was neither eliminated too soon or too late.

4 - Putting up the Christmas Tree tomorrow. Yay!

5 - it's 17:15 and I'm craving ham, pancakes and hash browns. I miss going to brunch. For My New Year's resolution, I vow to find a brunch partner.

Winter you are way nicer than I am, I would be thrilled they got chewed out since they tried to blame you for their lack of work ethic!!! Oha nd yep, brunch rocks!! If you lived closer I would so be your brunch partner!!

Just got an update one DH's aunt, they were able to take her off the vent which is good news. She is heavily sedated but things are looking better!!

Dude.

It didn't cool off enough to get the inches of snow they predicted. We got rain, which left everything drenched. This morning the temp dropped quickly, so everything is coated with ice and now it's snowing.

Thinking about you all who are getting horrible weather, be safe!! It is actually mild here today but supposed to get a deep freeze starting tomorrow.

Thought I might have been heading to the hospital today, but this kid is clearly toying with me. Oh well, soon I hope!

Got a lot of gift wrapping done an DH is out my with dad getting wine. Every year we split a case with him right before the holidays. Really curious to see what he comes home with, DH keeps sending me these odd texts with silly questions!

Ok, back to wrapping!!

Hi all - just a carpload of stuff so far this weekend. Lots of Christmas shopping (got most of it done...I think) and package wrapping, Christmas card prep, and most annoyingly, some computer issues. Ironically (or maybe not so heh) it was an Apple product (an iTunes update) that caused things to go a little batty with my Windows and other related products, but after a lot of chasing a lot of different tails to try to figure out what went awry, I found the correct tails to chase and got things working right again.

Headed off to do more holiday stuff. Special vibes to (((((Beaker's Aunt))))), warming mojo to all of you being snowed under right now, and good Sundays to you all.

We have a bit of the nasty weather, but nothing compared to the folks north of us.

Busy weekend here, again, but I got a lot of holiday to dos done. DH & DD helped with the Christmas cards, and they sent them before I could add Amichel. Hopefully it won't be a mystery card for anyone:)

Beaker - I think he's just trying to give me a chance to finish knitting his gift. Hopefully this week:)
