up earlyish to get a few miles in and then to go to bootcamp.

Also, so excited about Wednesday! We are doing a running scavenger hunt on the trails and I am a couple other people put together the clues/list yesterday. It is going to be a blast. If any MN people want to come and partake, it is a open invite. you must have a headlamp and a phone with camera/video!

Greetings Brandy, and all who shall follow!

Good luck to Bob, and any others lacing up for races this weekend!

Today feels weird. I'm not up early for a run. Nor am I up early to go help dad (he was up this week and already went back to South Georgia. So - here I am with no plans whatsoever. Feels weird, but for the first time in the past 4 nights, I made it through without cold/allergy meds. Yah! Still feeling stuffy this morning, so I may take some more, but I do believe I'm finally on the winning side of the battle with this nasty virus. Begone! Shoo!

According to Facebook, today is the birthday of a certain Greek woman that we all know. :) Happy brrf-day Theia!

Me either. Meant to get up at 6, but turned my alarm off and promptly fell back asleep. Till 7:15. And we're supposed to pick up the jam saw from the rental place at 7:30. Oops. So I got up and dressed and ran (in the car) up there.

And now we're getting started on getting started on the kitchen floor. I might have a stove by the end of the day. Which means squash fries!!!

Ok, I knew our house was not square, but.... our house is NOT REMOTELY CLOSE to being square.

Between me laying out the flooring and Dh trying to get the toilet & sink out of the kitchen bath, there is a bit of a blue cloud over our house right now.

When I first read this, I wondered what he was doing with ova... Well, good luck to him, whether it's playing football or fertilizing eggs...

Anyhoo, my HM is in the books. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Nice and sunny, high 40s at the start, mid 50s by the end. And it was a perfectly flat course. Perfect place to PR, if I were in PR shape.

But I knew I wasn't in PR shape. PR is 1:40something. I was just hoping to be near 1:45, but I figured 1:50 was more likely. Well, I managed to stick a 1:42. I'll take it! The best news is that I was still feeling quite strong at the end. Mile 13 was by far my fastest. I think the Garmin recorded 7:18. Next fastest was about half a minute slower than that. I'll look it all up after I get home and download the data. (I'm at my office now. The race was near work, so I figured I'd pop in for a little while afterwards).

There was also a 5k. The overall winner of the 5k was a female. I don't think I'd ever seen that before. Her time was 18:xx. Top male was about 30 seconds behind her or so. In the HM, the top female was 4th overall. Some fast babes around here!

Well, good luck to the rest of you racers and runners...

Good luck Young RIL!

Glad you're feeling better, Ailarie!

I am making my way through the house room by room and tidying, organizing, throwing crap out, putting stuff away, etc. I'm on my second (of four) loads of laundry, and I've done the master bath and bedroom (including making a space in the bedroom to practice my cello and then doing some practice), but I've stalled after finishing the entranceway. The dining nook, living room and kitchen are the worst spaces in my house, and I really need to address them. Maybe I'll make a juice and then tackle them.

Nothing is actually wrong with the kitchen or bathroom. I'm installing flooring, and there are lots of corners and stuff to notch out, and nothing is square. So I can't just make a cut and go, there is LOTS of fiddling to get all the edge pieces to fit. pffththt.

I get the honor of installing the flooring because Dh doesn't have the patience for all the fiddling.

Kath, I shudder to think how not square our house would be too... that's why we hired professionals for the kitchen floor! :D

Wow boB! Nice job... you just needed a little rest over these last couple of weeks. Good thing you listened to your body....

Here is James ready to go (wide receiver # 37). He never got any great passes, but he played almost the entire game and was a very happy camper.

Ril - Hold up a minute.. wasn't Jake down with the same thing that got both of us this week cold-wise? If so - wow, he bounced back FAST!!!! Yah for him playing most of the game tho!

Meanwhile, I made a quick trip to wal-mart today and got tired. >< (stupid cold!) I have, at least, followed Prae's ideas, and cleaned out some stuff for donation, throwaways, etc.

I'm done with the floor for today. IT isn't done, I still have a few pieces to finaggle around the radiator in the bathroom, but it's 98% there. Thank God, because my back is PISSED about today's activity.

Floor looks way better. But now I feel like my yellow walls are too bright, so while at Home Depot getting a new gas line and transition bar, I grabbed some paint swatches. heh.

That's all I got. I'm just sitting here admiring the floor. I did a good job. Dh has been calling me John all day. (I am my father's daughter.)

Hi all...first off, Happy Birthday Theia!! I hope your day has gone fantabulously

Got out for a double-digit run today - 10.25 miles along a section of the Bay Trail near Richmond that I had never run before. The city has something of a bad reputation because of it's criminal/gang problem, but the waterfront/marina area is pretty lovely, plus I got to run right through the relatively new Rosie The Riveter National Park (probably not many people make a point of visiting, but it's a pretty nice deal all around.)

Ran my session in typical fashion for me (easy start, but last four miles were cranked up in pace) - I guess what this run convinces me of is that I won't die out there if I sign up for a HM in a couple weeks (I'm still undecided on both the distance and the race, but there will be one that weekend no matter what.)

Once I got back, I ended up trying to bake some white chocolate cranberry pecan cookies, amongst other things. However, after the prescribed time in the oven, these things were looking cookie-like only in shape, not in texture, and I was trying like the dickens to figure out why. Then I remembered I forgot one important thing in the mix - flour As it turned out, I ended up making something what would be akin to a Clif Bar and it was actually pretty good. I might keep this accident in mind and tweak the ingredients (I could see that adding stuff like coconut and agave nectar would make it even better), but next time will definitely be true cookies

Speaking of HM's, great job boB! While you're not in PR shape, sounds like you're not too far off.

Missy - congrats on going to DW and surviving with a youngun'; safe travels back!

Congrats to James and his team, Mindi - he looks sharp in that uni.

Kath - pictures of the finished product please

Hoping everyone had good days today; wishing you pleasant Sundays tomorrow.

Morning everyone from lovely Wisconsin! Nice morning here, but I did not race.

I ended up needing quite a bit of family time for various reasons, yesterday, so instead, went 10-ish with me running and family on the bikes which was a) wayyy more fun and b) they really pushed me on a super hilly route, so I'll take it! I think we've started a new tradition...the fall 10 miler...with caravan.

Tired today, but out for an easy 5-6 in a few.

I hope you are all well--happy belated Theia and great photos Mindi!

Do wanna see the floor, Kath..you are our test drive with this. :)
