GO GIRLS!

Only got about 4 hours of sleep last night, so bit of a rough morning here. Need to spend the day in the studio again, and get a kiln going later. But that's fun for me. Might need a nap somewhere in there.

Go GOTR girls!

Good luck, bob on ur 5k and I agree your grandpa was very handsome.

Kind of a long, rough night at work but I was rewarded with a lovely delivery - 10# 15 oz which sets a new record for babies i've delivered. Just for fun, we brought in the baby born next door who was "only" 7# and it was david vs. goliath anyhow, only 3 more hrs of work then I get to sleep. Sweet sleep. Dh is taking AK out for a playdate so I can crash for the afternoon then we'll go out for peruvian chicken tonight. Yum!

Good days to all!

Morning. Go racers, go!

I have bread in the machine, I hung a picture that's been waiting since March, and I'm getting ready to shampoo my carpets (Darcy's been peeing a little outside the box). I'm a little skeered about the last one. I've put it off for a while, but it's really necessary. Yikes!

Go GOTR!

I spent a bit of time raking this morning. I have a pile of leaves in my front yard big enough to hide a whale. Sheesh.

Now I'll go run a few miles. Then it's off to CT for the rest of the weekend to visit my folks. And run another 5k race tomorrow...

Hi peeps- yesterday was my last day of work. Long story but I ended up opting to take a severance package. Timing is not ideal as its no fun to job hunt during the holidays but I was pretty unhappy and need a change. Moe- did you have an interview this week? Missy- AK is getting so big!

I realized that I never posted a pic of Grayson in his tuxedo on his birthday 2 weeks ago.

KJ, I was just thinking of you this morning and wondering how you and the kids were doing. I love the picture of Grayson in the tux, so cute!

Kind of a chill weekend for me. I'm crocheting, watching football, etc with family right now. I'll drive back home tonight or early tomorrow most likely, as I have tentative plans with Nick tomorrow.

Still haven't made it down to my studio. Brain was mush, so went up for a nap, and ended up having F'd up dreams. NO idea where they came from, as the situation & people involved have no business being in the situation or causing the ruckus it did. Bizarre.

Hi Everyone--

I've been out of the loop the last many days with my back..erggghhh...most certainly a slipped disc in C6/7 and following up with treatment options and going to a specialty clinic next week. Have been in the some of the worst pain of my whole life...but coming out of the woods after days...I hope. Of course, today is gorgeous and I'm sad about running, but have no desire to, either.

However, wanted to check in on my runnin' peeps and see how you are. I love the photos of the girls and Grayson!!

i'll try to read through the threads but if I can't...anyone wanna try a summary status?? :) Who's racing??

Take care, all..

Up waaaay too freaking late last night. Didn't finish glazing & loading the kiln till 2:35am. And then cleaned up. Didn't get to bed till after 3. Read a bit to wind down. Woke up at 8. PFfththt.

Long run got knocked down to 6. Brain is too tired, and we've got TOG wind here today. I don't know what kind of tree they are, but they've got brown pea pod-like seed pods that are about 8" long. The wind was whipping those pods off the trees, and I've got some scratches from where they hit me.

Good morning, everyone. I hope everyone is having fun this weekend, since apparently not many people are taking the time to post here...

I ran another 5k race this morning. This one was at my high school in CT. It was organized by the student council without any outside help, so it was a VERY low key thing. But they did a pretty good job. I finished the race in 21:44, although my Garmin measured the course at 3.00 miles. Either my Garmin flaked out, or they measured the course short. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the latter. The course was done entirely within the campus of the school, which has grown a bit since the last time I was there. I have no idea what place I came in. I saw 4 people finish fairly close ahead of me, but there might have been a few others farther ahead. I never saw any posted results, and I don't even know if the results will make it online, because I'm not sure if the student council has the capabilities of doing that. Anyway, I may have come in as high as 5th overall, but it's probably a bit worse than that.

I finished just ahead of the female winner. I was really trying to stay ahead of her. Not so much becuase I didn't want to lose to a girl (high school age), but because she was running with a dog. I've never been beaten by a dog before, and I didn't want today to be the first time. Thankfully I beat them by a couple seconds...

There was also a kid's run. Once again, DD had a blast. We took some pics, and I try to post some when I get home this evening. She's really getting into this...

By the way, I learned that the current tuition at the school is $31,000 per year. For high school!!! And they still keep calling me all the time asking for alumni donations! Sheesh!

Greetings, all!

I ran 4m on the Tm this morning, which is the longest run I've had since the GR HM on 10/16. Jeesh. Although the foot still feels weird (hard to really explain), it held up today. I'm glad. I've been having some motivation issues (lack of, rather) since I've lost so much conditioning and muscle tone between the downtime from the cold + the repeat of the ankle injury. I slowed things down even more, and maybe that's what made the difference. Who knows. I'm happy though. And relieved!)

Mindi - I'm so glad GOTR has worked out as well as it has for you as well as your girls. :)

KJ - Wow.. it does not seem that Grayson should be that big! What a very dapper young man! :)

Bob - Hah.. i had to snicker on the "don't wanna get beaten by a dog" comment ;) Rawr for staying ahead of Rover!

Kath - I see on FB that you and DH are picking out the new pup next weekend. Can't wait to see pics!!! :)

Cranie - hope you're doing better this morning daahling! :)

Apparently I'm in a good mood atm. There are lots of smiley faces on this post, aren't there?

Btw.. has anyone ever used one of these?

I saw this in BJ's yeterday, and wondered if it might be good for helping recovery from long runs and for PF type issues. If anyone has feedback (negative or positive), let me know please!

Rawr.. falcons just scored 3 points to lead the Saints :) This is gonna be a VERY interesting game.

She insisted on running in the dress, and she wouldn't let us straighten out the bib once it got attached.

Thanks, everyone for comments on and offline. I'm trying to stay positive and take things a step at a time: a) reduce or eliminate pain b) PT or therapy c) strengthen and return to more active venues. I won't be running for a bit,but after two weeks of rest, eliptical is possible.

GREAT photos, Bob!! GREAT race, Mindi!! How exciting after a year of hard work!

Good run, Ail...glad it went well.

The company I work for makes Flat Daddies for military families, and was featured on Fox News because of Veteran's Day. Here's a goofy video clip: Eric, that I work with, knew going in it was going to be a confusing conversation, because they also had a military spouse on named Erika. So there are several times they both try to answer because they can't tell who the question goes to. HA!

Ok, I can't get the video to embed. Here is the link: http://video.foxnews.com/v/1273503926001/flat-daddies
