Hi all!

KS, you can have our rain... I've seen enough!

OM...... sounds like your interview went well! Good luck with that and I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you when you get that surgery next Tuesday.

HappyFeat.... Are you tapering for your Sunday race? Or just treating it as a training run?

Rip, your list of "Ends of the World" made me smile. I just got a FB invite to a Post-Rapture Looting Party! Snork!

Thanks everyone for the supportive words! Johnny, that's pretty much what I was doing, although I have to be careful about the daydreaming . That's part of what's been getting me into trouble these days. That, my natural tendency to depression, the taper, and some bad news I got on Tuesday. My best friend is doing a great job in talking me through it all and is coming to visit this weekend for garden-centre therapy. I'm probably going to hold off the running for one more day (and not just to keep the co-worker off my case) and get in a light spin with some core work later.

Some good news... I heard a rumour that our department here just hired a new Manager...... and she's an elite runner and coach! Ohboyohboy!!!!

Have a great day, everyone!

good morning everyone!

I've been a lurker for awhile now, but thought I'd delurk and say hello to everyone!

I've had a good running week so far. 4.2 on Monday, 5 on Tuesday, 10 last night. Today is a rest day and blood donation day. 22 miler on Saturday and might run a few easy miles tomorrow.

I need to get cracking on my garden too. Hoping tonight after work I can get some more seeds in.

Welcome back Johnny. quite a variety of running conditions you experienced last week.

I have plans to see Pirates of the Caribbean tomorrow night. I hope this end of the world stuff doesn't mess that up. I've been looking forward to the premiere for a year now!

Hi Heme - my usual "taper" is simply to not run the 2 days prior to the race, but otherwise follow my regular running routine. This seems to be adequate for up to HM distance and because I'm not a fast runner anyway. This week though, I opted to not run Tues also, and may not run tonight because of how my legs felt last night. I think the more rest the better for me right now.

Tamster, planning a 22 miler this w/e, eh? I'll have to check the calendar to see what Marathon you're running. Welcome back, btw.

Did a bunch of core and upper body lifting today. Will do a 10-11 miler tomorrow. Tapering for a Half on the 29th.

Mike, I'm running Grandma's marathon in Duluth, MN on 6/18. I'm going back to visit family for about 10 days and lucky for me, it coincides with the marathon.

It could have only been more perfect if "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" was the one being premiered on RaptureEve.

I'll be running 20-22 this Sunday. Tammy and I are on about the same schedule, but my race is on the 4th. Well, one of them.

I hope you're out of the doldrums soon, Heme. Could be overtraining, could be any number of things. I hope you figure it out and kick it soon. GL on ditching the over-helpful coworker.

Got out for a nice RAL today. Well, one of those "I will run an easy run today" runs that ends up being tempo'ish. Helps that it's sort of an uphill thing on the way out and reciprocal downhill on the way back. First of many such runs on this trail behind campus that I like. Was going to be a bike path but was never paved, so now it's a nice packed dirt path about bike path-width, goes through trees and brush alongside a road. Most of the other bikepaths around here are right next to the road, so this one is nice.

6.3 miles @ 8:02 avg pace. DS has soccer tonight so wanted to get the run out of the way.

Hi all............. & lurking Tamster too

good luck on the race this weekend HappyFeat....as far as being unable to run in the future, it's just a projection of my increasingly deterorating skills. Hopefully I can hang on several more years, but ya never know.

Great list rip.....I even remember one end of the world prediction from the late 50's when the planets were in conjunction.

The new manager sounds like quite a find Heme........here's a hug for ya (((Heme))

Had to work today, so I didn't run, will see if I can actually get in 5 miles tomorrow.

I don't remember what you were interviewing for OM, but it sure sounds like you looked good.

Thanks Johnny... assistant manager at the local running store. Still haven't heard, but I'm patient.

Just returned from packet stuffing. We filled 2575 grocery bag packets in 2.5 hours for Saturday's Beach to Bay marathon relay.

There have been and will continue to be 100's and 100's of end of the world predictions. I believe it will happen but I can guarantee you it won't be Saturday the 21st, 2011. So go do your races, get your hair done, and know you're safe that day.

Ran 6 miles this afternoon. 83 cloudy degrees but the humidity was as bad as it's been in a while. Wet wet wet South winds. May get some thunderboomers tomorrow with some rain. Hope so. Forgot my garmin and my timex so it was a naked run. I did not like it.

Have a great night kickstars.

Oh, it is my Friday. :)

I actually remembered a few of those End of the Worlds. My friend Google helped me a little.

No working out today unless you count climbing up and down scaffolding a 100 times. Tomorrow will be more of the same as I finish redoing a roof

that has been a problem for a while.
