Ooof - 4:45 came much too early this morning and my achilles is really tight. Weird.

It snowed last night and is now freezing rain, so I am off to the treadmill.

I loaded the kiln this morning. Somehow Jack's little brain translates that as "I get to go for a ride!" and was doing his little happy dance at the back door. Which is really pretty funny.

Anyway.

Now that the kiln is going I'm going to do some core & arm stuff and then hit the tm. Even though we're having a heat wave, it's still only 23° and we have lots of ice around.

Winter doesn't actually start until 6:38pm Eastern time tonight.

Yes, I got up at 2:30am to see the eclipse. But I didn't go for a run. I was too tired, and I figured that getting myself worked up for a run (even an easy one) wouldn't help me get back to sleep. As it is, I'm still pretty tired sitting at my desk at work right now. If I can make it thru the day, I'll hit the gym tonight. Right about at the time Winter begins...

So the snow really messed up driving yesterday - I left early at 3 and it took me 3x as long to get home (90 min) yikes. I did go for a run which was HORRIBLE. Nothing plowed at the lake and 5 inches of thick snow equals sore calves. It was slow and hard. Day off today as I am traveling to ND tonight.

5 slow miles on the treadmill for me. Was scheduled for 9 with 4 at tempo, but was too tired for that. Hopefully I'll get to bed a little earlier tonight so I feel good for that workout tomorrow.

Morning all! Got out for 7.3 miles this morning in the company of 3 lovely ladies and sporting my awesome new GREEN shirt from Missy. It's like a shield against the wind, the awesome-est!

boB - I was still up at 1:30 a.m. and thinking about possibly sticking it out until the eclipse started but I fell asleep before I could think about it any more

Safe travels Brandy!

Bob - I was up at eclipse time too, but not on purpose and it was snowing so we couldn't see anything anyway. Rotten kids. :)

Wippy - I haven't seen any beach talk yet, but I like the way you think. :)

Brandy - I was trying to figure out why you were visiting Notre Dame...but I've corrected my geographic bias. Safe travels to you too.

Add me to the slow treadmill run crew. I was schedule for 30 minutes, but I went a few extra minutes to hit a round number. Hello OCD.

I'm hoping to get out of here early enough tonight that I can get 3 miles in on the snow shoes. We got about 5 more inches last night so it's nice and fresh stuff.

If I don't get out of here early it may just be a moonlight snowshoe night.

Hola folks.

5M on the treadmill last night. I was a bad girl and forgot about bi/tri/core work though. Meh. Therefore, Bi/tri were done before I left the house this morning. Hopefully I'll remember core this evening, since I am donating blood this afternoon, and will have a relatively quiet evening at home planned. (Surely the free time will remind me that I need to be doing SOMETHING fitness-wise)

Tonight a is a bike ride for me, but first I have to do some <gasp> work! I have to write letters to to the applicants to the program I help administer to let them know if they got in or not. Fun times. OH, wait, no it's not. Because they either think this: or this:

I watched the eclipse last night. Super cool. I took a picture as the moon was half covered -- I'll post it from home later.

I'm feeling a little bit better today, so I'm going to try for a short run after work. We'll see how that goes. Breathing is still a problem.

Naw, cool would have been if I actually went for a run at that hour during the eclipse. I thought about it, but just couldn't bring myself to do it...

Is anyone planning on picking a destination race for 2011? Preferably some where with a beach??

How about Little Rock?!? I'm not sure if they have a beach or not. I might have to look a map...

What about Olathe, Kansas? If Little Rock doesn't have a beach, then I'm sure there must be one in Kansas.

Seriously, I was thinking that if I had nothing else to do the first weekend of May, I might register for the New Jersey Marathon. Yeah, I've already done that one. But I can run it again without needing a plane ticket or a hotel. And it's three weeks before my birthday, which means I could use it as a training run in case I really decide to attempt 40 miles on my birthday. There's also a 5 mile race the same day back near here where I live in the afternoon. It might be cutting it close time-wise, but I might be able to run the marathon in the morning and then come back home and run the 5-miler in the afternoon. Or would that be too nutty?

Anyway, the point is, the New Jersey Marathon is right on the beach. (Or, as we here in Jersey call it, "the shore"). There are lots of NY/NJ/PA/DE folks around here, so we oughtta be able to get a good crowd there without much trouble. Any thoughts?

5.3 miles this morning. There is very little snow on the ground this year, least amount in the five Decembers we've spent in Michigan...and I'm loving it! Makes running outside this time of year possible.

Eugene is on my list of races to do, but probably not until 2012.

Just in the fields behind my house and Kegonsa State park and Magnolia County Park ( which is near Evansville)

There are 280 acres of field behind my house and only half are used for snow machine trails so I have plenty of room to roam around with the neighbor dog.
