<p>My daughter was feeling icky yesterday, and my in-laws took her to the doctor.  Turns out she has an ear infection.  Of course, that's a minor thing compared to what some of you guys have been dealing with, so if this is the worst thing we have to deal with this holiday season, it's not too bad...</p>

<p>My one hope for next year is that we can all get thru it with out having to deal with all of the stuff that happened this year.  What an insanely trying year. </p>

<p>On a lighter note.... it took me one hour and 25 minutes to drive 23 miles from work to my house last night.  I managed to get thru 2 of my Christmas CD's!!  There's nothing like releaving stress by singing O Holy Night at the top of  your lungs. </p>

<p>I hear you, Wippy.  This damn weather is for the birds.  It took me forever to get home and it always gives me a heart attack when people go FLYING past you as though the roads were clear.  I saw 2 different trucks completely spin out after zooming through the slippery ****.  I am going to work at home for a while this morning and go in after the morning rush.  I have a feeling East Wash is going to be a nightmare.</p>

<p>Fun:  near the end of my run this morning one of my running buddies passed me a bag of her homemade cookies.  Yay for plane snacks!</p>
<p>Fun:  heading down to OBX this afternoon and meeting up with the first wave of Pfeiffers arriving in Norfolk for the drive down.  Cannot wait!!</p>
<p>Fun:  sporting the sweetest new <strong><span style="color:rgb(0,128,0);">GREEN</span></strong> running top from <strong>Missy</strong> on my run this a.m., it's got thumb holes, a big pocket, a high neck and it's a wall against the wind.  </p>

<p>Ugh - what a disaster.  I took DS to hockey practice last night and half the team has it as well, including the coach!  This does not fit into my holiday plans whatsoever.</p>

<p>Well, Evelyn seems to be feeling a lot better.  I checked her teeth and gums this morning and they're healing up.  Looks like she was eating glass, though.  Ugh.  Her mouth is still swollen, too.  But her spirits are good.  I keep hugging her.</p>

<p>I hope we get good updates today from everyone.  And more new baby pics, too.</p>

<p>Hey...did Colin come on his actual due date?  For some reason, I'm thinking if it wasn't the day it was pretty close.</p>

<p>Clare, I'm so glad Evelyn is feeling better!  My mother once popped my arm out of the socket when I crawling around under the pew at church...and when I broke my hand playing baseball, she didn't take me to the hospital until I finally refused to go to bed, and lo and behold...it was broken.  You all are good parents...kids are just breaky sometimes.</p>

<p>It finally snowed here (it's still snowing actually).  My commute last night, 6 miles on city streets...was 2 hours.  It took me 30+ mins to go .25 mi at one point.  I also had to wait 6 cycles of a light at another point.  Oy.  However, I like the snow and my drive this morning was a breeze. </p>

<p>I just SCORED getting some last minute Christmas gifts...since I've been so distracted, I've been really stuck on getting a few things for family friends and my aunts, but I just looked on restaurant.com, found some good deals and then found a coupon code for 80% off the deals!  I paid $10 for 4 GCs worth $100!  AWESOME!  Plus, they're pretty good restaurants and while there are some restrictions, it's still a pretty good gift.  Who doesn't like a restaurant gift certificate??</p>

<p>Today is my department Christmas party, at the University Castle, which will be nice.  Also nice, it's 3-5.  So I can leave on time.</p>

<p>Continued the cleaning fest here.  The door of our TV cabinet stopped closing.  So, I pulled everything out (TV, cable converter, dvd player, about 1000 DVDs and VHS tapes, etc.) and looked to repair it.  The bottom of it is particle board and it is warped.  Will not be able to warp it back prior to having 38 house guests.  crapsicles...</p>

Hi there. Just got kicked out of the CTICU for a meeting. Grayson has a little more color but it's still an awful site. I would post a pic but it's pretty disturbing. Hope Evelyn continues to mend and anyone fighting the stomach bug. Maria-have a great time in OBX!

<p>Stomach bugs?  Ick.  I hear you on the dontgetmesickdammitdontgetmesick.  My sister and her family and my mom are all viciously ill and we are all getting together Friday and Saturday.  I hope they are less contagious by then.  Lots of people around here have nasty stuff going on.</p>
