Richard,

I run in/on snow 5 months a year. Never wear gaiters unless I'm snowshoe running. Of course I run on a packed surface most of the time, or a packed surface with a few inches of snow on top. Don't use goretex shoes or socks either. My feet might get wet if it is slushy or wet snow. I do wear "screw shoes" all the time on packed two tracks, single track, and snowy roads.

Hey Richard,

I have yet to wear gaiters, but my plan is to start snow shoeing this winter as a means of crosstraining, since the trails will be mostly hard to navigate. I may give the gaiters a go. I am currently wearing the INOV-8 Roclite 312 GTX and find them to be a great introduction into the gore-tex world. Like Joe, screwing shoes is the norm for me, because even in the winter I can get aggressive at times.
