Are you hosting Thanksgiving or are you traveling to family or friends (Canadians - play along since you've already had your Thanksgiving)

I'm now about 4 hours from my kids, but I don't know if I'm going down there for Thanksgiving. I know that traditionally, Thanksgiving in Iowa is at my ex in-laws house, so I'm pretty sure I'm not invited to that. So - at this juncture - I think I'm just going to hangout here at the house with Ronan.

My oldest is coming up the weekend after, so maybe I'll wait for him and just have another Thanksgiving.

So you?

Are you traveling?

if yes - Mode of transportation

If yes - how far?

So my husband will drive to Pittsburgh to pick up his mom and bring her to our house. She'll be staying with us.

Then on Thursday we will all go to my parents' house for the traditional meal. My sister and I, and any of the kids we can rope into it, will be doing the cooking, since my mom is not well.

Then I am hosting my MIL as a guest for the rest of the week. And my daughter and her (by then) fiancee will be coming to stay with us Friday or Saturday... no idea where everyone will be sleeping at this point!

No, I will be here at home in NH with my kids and husband. My sister has always hosted ALL the holidays. (Yes ,,,I am a teeny bit resentful.. but I AM getting better about this!) She lives over 2 hours away ... DH hates the drive, doesn't really like going and there are almost 30 people squashed in the house.. which is very very crowded and loud...

New tradition is I take DS to a local turkey trot, DH starts the turkey and stuff and we eat here together. SOmetimes we will have a friend or two come for dessert, or go over to our neighbors for hors d'oevres.

I really really wish that I had company coming as that is the way it was when I grew up. My parents when they were able, used to make the drive up and be our company - I do miss that a lot.

Rich- start driving and come to NH - we'd love to have you here for dinner !

I'm stuck driving from L.I. to Yardley PA, usually a 2 hour drive w/o traffic. I always complain about going, but, that falls on deaf ears. If I plan right, i'll miss the traffic

Won't see either of the Trolls....and they'll be missing out on some mighty fine foodage.

DS#1 is living/working in Telluride; so we won't see him [at the earliest] till April.

DS#2 is living/working/going to school in LaCrosse; he works part-time at an assisted living residence, and he's booked to work the four day weekend [low kid on the ass-wiping totem pole].

Friday morn eta: Last night I called both Grammas to spring it on them that they won't see EITHER grandson over the holiday. [no other grandchildren on either side of the family]....the grannies were mighty disappointed.

When you're 85, ya gotta see those kids when you can, eh?

DW, DD & I are flying late Monday night & returning early Sunday morning - home to GA. We'll be at my mom's Tues, Wed, & half of Thurs. Then, at my Dad's half of Thur, Fri, & Sat. We'll have traditional turkey dinner at my mom's w/ her, her husband, husband's sister + her 2 kids. On Friday at my Dad's we're having less-than-traditional (smoked brisket) dinner with my Dad, step-mom, my two sisters, sister one's husband + twin 4 year-old sons, DW's brother, his wife & baby, plus me, DW & DD. Sadly, mom's will be a drag. But Dad's will make the trip worth while.

As a Canajun I don't believe you can have too many holidays.

I'm going to Denver on Wednesday (via ATL) but am actually flying out of Toronto rather than Buffalo because it took fewer SkyMiles...go figure. I haven't flown out of Toronto in years.

We host my in-laws on Thanksgiving, then my mom & stepdad come for soup on Black Friday. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. I love cooking big meals & spending time with family. Of course it helps that I have the best in-laws on the planet.

Not going anywhere except from Tucker to Centerville, Georgia for Thanksgiving at some relatives/friends house. I may have to divide up the day because I have two different Thanksgiving affairs to go to.

I wish I could say I was traveling. I don't want to go to my parents house. There's a spat between a sister and my parents and she won't be coming. Two other sisters are going to the in-laws for Christmas. It would just be my little family, my parents, two single brothers, and a married brother with his daughter. I don't want/need the drama. I tried inviting myself to a friend's in Omaha. That won't work out. I thought about driving down to CA to visit family there, but now it's too short of notice. Can I claim illness and stay home?

We're going to Grandma's, which is about a 2hr drive away. I'm driving up on Wednesday. Son1 will be riding. The rest of the family will come up Thursday morning. My sister will be there. So not looking forward to the drama.
