DW is in Skagway, AK. 52 degrees and raining. She better enjoy it as we have another 2 months of brutal heat ahead of us.

I ran only 4 miles this morning and decided it's time to go see the vet. I had this breathing problem a few years ago which cleared up with cooler weather. I just can't wait for cooler weather any longer as there is none in the long term forecast (months). Will run again tonight 4-5 miles after church.

Well I did my "why not" by calling my dr. What "why nots" do you need to take care of today?

Excellent decision, ks! You haven't been yourself for a while now. Please keep us posted.

Great trail run yesterday rip.

Today is Wed, which means mid-week tempo day. 10 miles, 8 at tempo (7:47 avg pace). This one was a little more challenging than usual. I've upped my lower body w/o's recently and the leg muscles are feeling it. What doesn't kill ya makes you stronger though, right?

A wise decision Ks.......and you weren't in denial long either ...hopefully it's nothing serious.

Nice running Mike....and even more so now that I hear you're 55 years old. For some reason I thought you were one of the "kids" here. (Don' take offense, by "kids", I mean someone in their 40's. My oldest daughter is 42, so as far as I'm concerned, ANYONE in their 40's is a kid.)

7 miles in the woods, had a problem with the switch to the pressure tank (for the well) sticking. Water all over the garage from the pressure relief valve. All things considered, it picked a good time to break though. Got it fixed and went for a run just after noon. 85°F (darn cold for Ks), but a little warmer than my normal 7AM run.

Hope Heme is having a fine time camping.

Hi all - will be heading out for 8 miles soon. Not planning on any tempo miles tonight, legs are a bit tight all over, just feel like running slow and easy.

I've read there are fitness gains from running on tired legs, but last night was not pretty. I only did 3 miles - any longer and I'd have hurt myself. I didn't sleep well the previous night and my legs were tired anyway I guess; I had trouble keeping my posture, kept leaning forward, and ended the last quarter mile with a cramp in the right side of my mid-back. Waaah! I hope to H*** tonight's run is better! Trying to decide between an all flat route or half on the rolling hills. Anyway, I got a good nights sleep last night, so I won't have that excuse.

I bet "52 and raining" sounds like IRC to you, KS.

Another one in favor of your getting poked and prodded to see if anything is amiss. Good for you for making the call.

If you have to flood the garage, summer is definitely the optimum season for that, Johnny

Hi gang!

Good idea to get things checked out, KS.

Johnny......I've had to deal with the well pressure tank, too...same issue.......only mine is in my basement....rather messy.

Hi Mike & HF!

The camping is off, as once again we didn't get our act together..... and there was mid-week rain in the forecast.

We saw the SIL and BIL yesterday for lunch....aft4er a 2.5 hr drive...... she's a lovely woman, a homebody who's a terrific cook, but has a very bad back and very few good days.......he's a hyper retiree who's in amazing shape for 70, but seems to be loosing his marbles a bit. We left their place with a basket of tomatos, home-made blueberry/butter tarts, a replacement sump pump and blow-up dingy. DH seems to have a problem with the word "No"! We stopped on the way home for dinner....a huge plate of fish and chips that had me groaning and loosening off the waistband.

Blew off running today as well, since yesterday I felt extra creaky and sore....... figured my body was telling me to back off. We're heading for the beach tomorrow, so will pack my running gear, as DH will likely spend a load of time fishing.

I love blueberries. Just went through 8 muffins in a couple days.

I underestimated my roofing demolition from last week. Yesterday I took 2800 lbs to the dump and this morning I took another 3200 lbs for a total

of 3 tons. I don't have a dump truck so I have to load them in my box truck and then rake them out. That is quite a workout.

No running or eliptical today. Planning on some easy running tomorrow morning.

Trail race is in Freeport, Pa. saturday at 1 pm. Rare to see an afternoon race so it will be a little warmer but sounds like it is mostly in woods.

The plan is to run the first 8 and race the last 5.

I'd like to know what you have for breakfast, Rip. You must have some super nutrition going on to fuel all that hard work.

Done with my 8 flat scenic miles. About every other one ended up being about 10:30 mpm, the rest slower; avg pace 10:44 and it all felt pretty good.
