I am going through my closet and I'm looking at stuff I'll never wear but I just can't give them away.

It was SO hard going through my girl clothes to give to my sister. I kept somethings that I loved and I don't want her to give away. I have no clue if we'll have more but still.

Dude!

I'm not even planning on having any more kids at all, and I am keeping a bunch of the outfits they've outgrown. I am putting together little layettes for any future grandkids I have--how twisted is that?

I went through my pre-preg clothes that I had tossed in the attic the other day, sorting through what still fit and found a pair of tapered-leg, button fly calvin kleins (in a size 0!!!) from god only knows when, and found myself reluctant to put them in the goodwill bag. They don't fit me, I haven't worn them in at least a decade, they are so out of fashion its not funny, and yet, I found myself holding them and thinking about keeping them!!!

most of my clothes are from my 2 older cousins stuff that doesn't fit them anymore. All very stylish and things i like to wear.

They send me a garbage bag full of clothes every six months or so depends on when their girlfriends make them clean out their closets.

Did I miss somewhere that BikeBaby is a boy??

I can't bring myself to get rid of old clothes that I love either. Some of them I know I'll wear again when I get off my butt and lose some weight, and some I just love too much to part with. It makes no sense at all.

I just put a pair of hot pink pants, a straight denim skirt, a leather skirt, and a couple of tshirts in the bag. All a size 10. I haven't been a size 10 since before #2.

And yes the word on the street is bikebaby is bikeboy. but I'm still skeptical.

nope. I just get sad (actually more pissed at myself) sometimes when I putting items with tags still on into a goodwill bag, else I LOVE getting rid of clothes . I'm a "thrower outer". The thing is I usually wear stuff that has holes and stains, it must be a comfort thing, I like to look like crap

I am a pathological purger.

I hate having too many clothes in my closet or drawers. When I get anxious, I get rid of things. It comes easy. Sometimes I have regret, but usually I am getting rid of stuff I bought at goodwill or on sale anyway. There are only a few items I've held onto for a length of time - two worn in hooded sweatshirts and a couple of vintage t-shirts. Everything else is fair game.

Clothes, however, can be for some like photographs. They remind us of a different time, of the "hope" we had when we bought them - hope for an event, hope for a new body shape, hope for a new life (ie: maternity clothes). I can imagine if this is what happens it would be hard not to be sad about parting with them.

I've been just sending the clothing that's outgrown me to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. I figure someone else could make better use of it than I could.

I've also donated stuff like my suits...well, save for one, which I'll probably keep for awhile: a size-54 that will be a reminder of where I used to be

I used to be a saver, but now I'm a purger. When I started losing weight I didn't want to keep any of the old stuff.

I donated much of my clothing to a program run by an agency where my friend works. Like Joe, I kept 1 outfit from my highest weight, a 3x shirt from my grandma and a pair of size 28 jeans. My grandma always bought us clothing for Christmas and our birthdays, and that shirt was the last thing she gave me before she died.

I have no problem getting rid of it. I have some sentimentality and then I try the stuff on, realize it is way too big and looks like shit, and chuck it in the pile. I am very annoyed by the 10 pairs of too large jeans in my closet right now that I only kept because my mom wants them (they are her size)...I would love to get rid of them ASAP.
