It's always been like this. I believe it's a safeguard to prevent accidental editing. Pressing it twice is a confirmation of sorts.

Does it have to do with the mod function? I remember when I was a mod, I accidently edited someone else's post instead of quoting them...

I think it changed during one of the upgrades and it's been slowly annoying me ever since <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif">

We'll be upgrading the software as soon as the new version becomes a 'stable' release.. It's still in 'beta' and I don't want to risk an install until it is stable..

It used to work OK for me initially, but after the attacks and fix ups it changed to be no longer working on the first click. I am OK with having to click twice, but the instant edit is a really cool and nice feature.

Not yet...I just clicked to edit the post above, but I have the yellow exclamation point triangle and "Error on Page" at the bottome of the browser (IE 7).
