<p>I understand why the other NPR executive resigned after being punk'd by James O'Keefe but what was the connection to the CEO, other than the reporting relationship?</p>

<p>I think she was overdue for resigning.  With the manner in which one of their reporters was fired for comments he made while  working for Fox and now the revelation that another NPR person said  (same last name but no relation to the CEO) Tea Partiers were racists, things just culminated.</p>

<p>The wheels are falling off the NPR bus and she didn't want to be left holding the bag (i.e. responsible for it's demise).</p>
