Maine (where I live anyway) has dodged the snow bullet thus far. Meaning I just jinxed myself.

We had no snow but did have a 1/10" of ice which messed up the roads and caused over 1,000 accidents in the Atlanta area since yesterday. Today temps are approaching 60 degrees.

We're the last house on a dead end street. The city never plows us. When we get a heavy snow, the neighbors pitch in and hire a private company to plow our street, otherwise no one can get out.

Unfortunately that's a true statement. When it rains/ices/snows around here people seem to lose all common sense on how to drive.

Sadly, even in places where people should know better they tend to be useless for the first couple of snowfalls or ice storms.

There are 3 types of drivers in Georgia when it's snowy and/or icy

1) "Geesh this is scary. I'm not going over 3 mph cuz I might run into y'all"

2) "Geesh this is scary. I'm gonna drive home FAST cuz it aint safe out here"

3) "Geesh this is so fun. I love the way my vee-hickle slides all over the place. It's a thrill ride."

I don't wish to be on the road with ANY of the three types.
