I am done with winter too, but I can't complain because the sun is out today and the streets are clear. It was COLD with the wind during my run this morning, but it is better than snow and freezing rain. So thank you for that mother nature. Now let's move along with this spring thing. thankyouverymuch.

Clare - wow. Very very unfortunate on so many levels.

Theia - I agree with Prae that that just can't be right. But I've been there and know what you are saying.

Wippy - continued good luck vibes. Glad it doesn't really sound like you need 'em.

Winter - social breakfast sounds so wonderful!!

Clare's story reminded me of someone I saw on my run Wednesday. Totally different situation, but unfortunate. I ran in some of the neighborhoods in downtown Madison and it was kind of the suck because NO ONE was friendly at all. I think a lot of people are disgruntled about all the political stuff and cuts going on around here. Anyway, I was running down the sidewalk on Willy Street and a woman - who was about the age of my mom - mid 60s - was walking down the street, kind of hunched over with a broom in her hand. She was sweeping the area right in front of where she was walking (not because she was clearing her sidewalk, but she was doing this as part of her walk) and she had no shoes on. It was about 20 degrees and pure ice. Very sad, sad stuff. Clearly she has some mental health issues and it was just very sad to see.

On another note, I mentioned the other day that FIL is coming this weekend. We haven't seen him in 3.5 years and this is a very big deal. DS#1 is super excited (they used to be very close). DS#2 doesn't remember him well, but was also very excited - particularly since he was going to be celebrating his 8th Bday. Well, today FIL bailed. He has a head cold and doesn't want to get on a plane. DH is heartbroken and feels like less than an afterthought to his father. BS. <a href="mailto
