OK, I've been joining in on all the song and TV threads around here... 'cuz it's fun! And I'm all about fun.

But... I find myself wondering if we should try to keep the signal-to-noise ratio a little higher here by relegating some of these totally off-topic threads to the PRT?

I was about to start an American Idol thread here but instead decided to chime in on this one there. The disadvantage to being over there is that I'm not trading thoughts with all my peeps here - and I miss that.

Of course, if we decided we should discourage off-topic threads here - that might prove impractical anyway. Sure, we could all chime-in on such threads and suggest they should not persist and we could even ask mods to move threads.... But that's all a hassle and reeks of "Big Brother" too. Plus, I'd want to think thnk that more of the LIT/KRMS folks would be ready the PRT but I know it's not everyone's cup 'o tea so...

I'm torn. What do YOU think?

As long as the KR powers that be, I'd love for us to be able to include off-topic posts here. I don't have time to venture out of the MS section much.

I usually only log into and look at MS forum - maybe I am being narrowminded - but all my friends are here and they might not like me anywhere else (Irish inferiority complex showing now) - So I think post what you want here - if no one replies then you know it was so far off topic that nobody cares

what I want to know
is there a movie you won't watch just because a certain star is in it?
As in. I hate Tom Cruise. Always have. I'm not new on the anti-Tom wagon. Haven't seen a movie of his since A Few Good Men because nobody in the theather wants to hear me yelling "shut-up you stupid pint sized pudwacker" at the screen

1! Come March, we'll be all about intervals, hills and swim workouts. Then, in another month or so, all about race reports.

A little jocularity for the offseason is a good thing - keep the winter duldrums away.

He won't go see a Jane Fonda movie.
Her political actions during the late 60s and 70s ......'nuff said.

I've poked around a couple other KR forums, but frankly just don't want to learn all the new names, etc. Hard enough keeping track of my multi-sport peeps, especially with all the name changes recently.

I agree with the others, too, that come Spring it will be tough to get anyone here to talk about anything other than triathlon.

Honestly I don't post anywhere else except maybe the med tent or KR equivalent occasionally. I like Neil feel comfortable here.

What everyone else said. I rarely venture out of MS because this is where all my peeps are.

I also hang out here mostly, but I like the other forums as well, I think being in the VRAA helps ( I really enjoy team races/goals, its very motivating). There are lots of great people out there, logging some crazy mileage. I also frequent another forum which is almost all running but I have managed to convert a few to the tri side.

I also rarely venture out (in fact, I haven't at all) because I can barely keep up here! All my friends are here, and there are SO many people here! I say talk about whatever you want. If you don't want to read OT posts, then don't. I think the OT posts help us to really get to know each other better (outside of our "training" lives) Just my .02
