10 AM and no reports? A good 2 hr run for me today. 20 km at the upper end of easy pace. I am happy with the day, but not the week. Only 35 miles total. Not the kind of week that leads to PR's in the fall.

7.5 mile race this morning in 1:03:32, an 8:28 pace. It was sunny and a very hot 65 degrees. I was very pleased with my time. Except for mile 1 which was too fast, my splits were very even.

I've come a long way in accepting who I am now as a distance runner. Back when I ran this race all the time in the 80's, not running < 7:30 pace would have caused much self-loathing. Which it did (that is, being older and slower causing self-loathing) on most training runs until about 5 years ago when I stopped wearing a running watch on my runs (other than races).

I was very happy with this run today. And the hammy (strained on Wed., running the 200M) also held up. Beer and nap now.

trail run. a little shy of 4 hours. it was a GREAT first half, then i went to meet DH at his car (as we had planned in advance since he forgot the extra key for me) and i waited for FOURTY MINUTES. i was fuming. I then went back out on the trail, ran a really FAST loop, then on the fourth loop, i fell pretty darn bad into the brush next to the trail. I really hope there was no poison ivy. I scrubbed top to bottom with tecnu when i came home. i did not see any where i fell, but the place is crawling with it.

overall it was a good run, except for when i was REALLY PISSED The trails we have been running every weekend for the last few weeks are very technical and i am picking up speed each week.

Technu should stave off the poison oak, Meri. You're good.

Today I biked down to the local 5k and got to watch from the bike. Couple of my training buds ran PRs, so it was a joy to watch. Joined them for the cool-down run, and a little more.

Folk festival took a bit out of me. 9 miles cross-country (40 metres of asphalt, the rest turf) up and over the hill. Bug infested. Fun.

Saw a guy being pulled up the hill by a parasail dragging this three-wheeled buggy. That was a first.

I have not really fallen like that since December It was weird, i usually fall in slo-mo, but this happened so fast i have no idea what happened. Weird.

Where are they showing the Gold Cup, wtpj? Nevermind, I see it's on Univision...

I didn't do anything today. Still letting my quad rest and with any luck, it's healing well.

Plan today was 20 miles. I did my 20.05 mile loop.

I debated doing this on the trail, but opted for pavement instead.

I went out with a goal of running 9:00 per mile. I was able to do that.

Well no run yet, after supper I'll have my first chance to.

Still very sad since my best buddy, the foreign exchange student went back to Germany this morning and no I won't get to visit him until I'm out of college at least. BUT, he is planning on attending Loyola College for their men's volleyball program once he is done with his schooling in 2-3 years. We will definitely be keeping in contact though. Now in 2 days I will get to see last year's German foreign exchange student so that should be lots of fun.

See ya in a bit.

Dehydration, incorrect shoes, chest colds, and high humidity blow ass.

6 miles with last 2.2 attempted at tempo. Ended up sucking, the ball of my foot hurts, couldn't hack up all that phlegm(sp?) and sweating buckets with cotton mouth. Tempo is suppose to be like 5:58 and I ran 6:37 pace. Just got a confidence cut for the race in 2 weeks that will have similar conditions.
