Who is Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin? Are they Democrats or Republicans? Are they illegal immigrants and can they prove they were born in the U.S.?

Palin won't run for President. She's great at getting the base fired up, but too polarizing to be a serious national candidate. And she knows that. Plus, I think she's having too much fun doing what she's doing, not to mention that she makes a lot more money doing this than if she were President...

I'm just guessing here, but I think the 2012 Republican nominee will be either Mitch Daniels or Haley Barbour. Some people are hyping Chris Christie, but I think he's a little too new and will need more time. Then again, lack of experience and/or qualifications didn't stop the American people from electing Obama...

I tend to think Mitt Romney has the better chance. He is staying low but assuming the economy stays the way it is currently, people are going to be looking for a business manager and Romney has those credentials more so than the others listed above.

All the polls show that people are sick of just about every politician. Basically, if they've heard of them, they hate them. That goes for Obama, Palin, whoever. Romney might not exactly be a household name, but he just might not be "fresh" enough. Daniels and Barbour are virtually unknown outside of their own states, and I think people will like that. I might have included Bobby Jindal on the list if I didn't think he was already a little too well-known.

I certainly won't bet the farm on Daniels or Barbour. But I will guess that the eventual 2012 Republican nominee is someone that most Americans have never heard of yet...

I think that you're thinking too logically. If Mitt ever had a chance, it 'would' seem now is the time....but Americans are so fickle, we'd vote for someone if they promised us a free beer over someone that could actually get us out of a financial mess. (well, at least that's what happened in my high school, the guy that promised a party won over the girl with experience and knowledge......and the f' er never came through)

Glen Bech has officially ruled out a presidential run.

Not a chance," Beck said in an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," on the same network that broadcasts the radio and TV host’s daily show. "I have no desire to be president of the United States. Zero desire. I don’t think that I would be electable."

I don't think you could find a much more "establishment Republican" than Haley Barbour, so if you theory of an outsider winning is correct I wouldn't like his chances.
Well, yeah. He's definitely a "good ol' boy" from the South. But my point is that very few people around the country know him. Right now, just about every politician is carrying around a lot of baggage. If nobody knows who you are, nobody knows your baggage. So in that respect, I think Barbour does have a chance. But I do agree to some extent, and that's why I would say Daniels is the front-runner, in my well-uninformed opinion.

And we did have a President Daniels not too long ago:
