Yes, just like a scene out of Caddyshack.

What would you do instead?

I went home and stretched and foam rolled.

Yup.
Rest.

If I HAD to swim, I'd go to the other pool that I have access to.
But, more likely...
I'd take a bath and read a few pages and get to bed early.

depending what time of day it was--I would switch my workouts around, so that I could swim another day (i.e. go home and do my biking that was planned for the next day, and than swim the next day when I should have been biking)---but if it were late at night--I would have called it a day and taken a rest day?!---sorry about the "tainted" pool--groooos!

Do you have a backup pool? Or a trainer? Or do weights and conditioning instead? Or if you live where there's lots of snow, go for a long hike in the snow (when you have to climb through 30cm of uneven snow, it's a hike!)

That's why I like training in the AM... if there's a technical problem I have the day to figure out alternative plans!

Me thinks Stu thinks pools are really cleaner than pools really are.
