I know for each of us it's different.

Today, sitting at a picnic table at our campsite, camp fire going merrily, breakfast sitting comfortably in my tummy, nice breeze helping the Aspen leaves applaud the morning... a wonderful night's sleep after a beautiful hike (more on that later).

It was one of those moments for me.

Earlier, at about 7:30 I'd gotten up because I couldn't make my bladder shut up. I walked through the campground and saw a beautiful patch of fireweed lit up on the early morning sun. As I passed it I heard a mom's voice calling out for her daughter and I saw that a little girl, no more than 5 was in the patch of fireweed, dwarfed by it, looking up at the flowers swaying in the morning breeze. "It's soooo beautiful" she said, and repeated it like a mantra. A kindred spirit perhaps? Maybe that was one of her "It doesn't get any better than this" moments.

Here's one from Saturday. My voice gets drowned out by the wind. It WAS a perfect day. That is my wife on the edge of the cliff... the other two people are our friends who are newly minted Canajuns. Although we'd hiked there 2 weeks ago with the obys, we'd decided that we needed to return and do it again.

What the video could not convey and pictures do a hard job of conveying is the fact that the meadow was absolutely filled with flowers of all types and colours. It was heaven.

A good place to sit and contemplate how it really doesn't get much better...

Oh and by the way, not 2 minutes after packing up our campsite was raided by two bears. Not my cousins, but the ruder black bears. Sheesh!

Those pictures are absolutely breathtaking! I so miss being in a part of the world that has that sort of beauty.
