Well, I went to the gym and just had a crummy workout! It seems like everyone is having these days lately. I don't know if I'm just tired or if it was the new weights I did or what, but I barely made it 3 miles on the TM. I even had to walk for 1:30 after about a mile. UGH! I'm glad I decided not to do intervals. I decided to just go for a z2 run. My HR was fine, but I just felt really tired. What is the deal?

I did do some tri-specific weight training that I've not done in a LONG time. I did squats, leg press, lat pull downs, and some core work. Then, I got on the TM to run 3 miles at a 10 MM. Maybe I just need to go to bed earlier tonight. I have a ride scheduled for tomorrow and was going to swim Friday, but I may have to rest on Friday. I'm beat and my lower back is really sore.

Sigh.

DH's job in jepodary after he fired someone who deserved fired. But NAACP and Cinti's fear of the NAACP might leave him the one out of a job.
Today I'm tired and depressed... and tomorrow it's only gonna get worse.
Got a law exam tomorrow, the freakin textbook is 1200 pages (all in tiny small type), by the time I finished it, I don't even have a clue what the first third was about. On the bright side, I found out I only need 50% to pass... no wonder lawyers give us so many reasons to joke about them. You don't joke too much about macroeconomists... I needed 80% to pass that one (and did, of course).

Sorry to hear about the troubles..... Maybe it's just spring fever starting up!

Luckily, I'm not experiencing the same but my HRM showed me at 244 for about 6 minutes of my run today. I'm pretty sure I wasn't even to 144 at that point! So maybe something IS wrong with today!

Hang in there.... it can only get better.

Kelli - you may still be recovering from your kick arse HM

Me, I'm just plain sick of my allergies/asthma. I was coughing between every set at the pool this morning, I think I was scaring my coach! I know what the dr's going to tell me tomorrow - the cats need to go! But, no. Cats will stay. Just need some stronger dope

Y'all are starting to scare me now!

I think I just need a warm shower and a nap. Not sure that laundry will get done today! (Oh, but I think all my cycling shorts are dirty -- I better check)

Mine will shoot up like that at the beginning of a run in cold weather before I've started sweating much. It's just the contacts not being moist enough. I just ignore it, but it annoys me because then I don't really know what my max was. It never does that in the summer, though.

My HM was a week and a half ago, so I don't think that's it. I took last week off almost entirely. I ran once (Sunday -- 3.6 miles) and rode my bike twice (short, easy rides)
I hear ya on the allergies. I don't have pet allergies, but I'm just allergic to the air here! Austin is the allergy capital, and with these weather changes, it wreaks havoc on everyone!

Glad I'm not the only one! I am exhausted and just blah in general this week! I just have no motivation for anything this week! I have a busy weekend planned too, so no resting up over the weekend. Maybe I just need to go to bed really early tomorrow night. Whatever the problem is I need to get over it fast!

If you need a pick-up in your training and perhaps have needed one for a while, or if you're prone to those up and down phases of training and in life, see my post in the "Life is rosy" thread.

A mathematician, an accountant and an economist apply for the same job.
The interviewer calls in the mathematician and asks "What do two plus two equal?" The mathematician replies "Four." The interviewer asks "Four, exactly?" The mathematician looks at the interviewer incredulously and says "Yes, four, exactly."

Then the interviewer calls in the accountant and asks the same question "What do two plus two equal?" The accountant says "On average, four - give or take ten percent, but on average, four."

Then the interviewer calls in the economist and poses the same question "What do two plus two equal?" The economist gets up, locks the door, closes the shade, sits down next to the interviewer and says, "What do you want it to equal"?

You're right, economist jokes just aren't that funny.

Listen to Thor in the other thread! Also, I think that a lot of us got back into a bit more serious training after the Christmas holidays. We're now at a point where we've worn down our bodies a fair bit. I've had a couple brutal workouts as well, so know you're not alone. What keeps me going is: 1) Knowing that I have to be in awesome shape for early-June; and 2) knowing that fairly soon my body is going to get used to the increased training I've been doing, and will respond accordingly. There's a line in German you can use that translates as "the knots explode" - that point where you go to the track and lay down an awesome performance, or you destroy the hill that always hurts your bike, or suddenly you're making the faster pace-times in the pool. Those knots explode only after you've given yourself a fair beating! It's the fighting through the knots that's the hard part. Keep with it, and suddenly you'll have a "Awesome-workout-today post"! I'm sure of it!

All the best! Keep training!
