Vancouver HM on May 6. Will be running with my daughter, who will be looking to be first in her age group. I on the other hand, will be looking to PR in something under 2 hrs. A large chunk of the course winds its way through Stanley Park, a huge wilderness area in the middle of downtown Vancouver. It should be a great run.

Later this summer I may do some shorter races, and then possibly another HM in the fall. We will see.

I'm doing my first race on Memorial Day. It's a 10k called the Bolder Boulder.

I should probably start hammering out some sort of training plan...

Maybe - April 1st - Great Bay 1/2 Marathon. Newmarket, NH. All depends on how the body feels in the next few weeks.

Definite - April 14th - Merrimack River 10 Mile Trail Run. Andover, MA.

I am also registered for a fall marathon, but plans have not been finalized yet, so I am not prepared to announce that yet. Hopefully soon I'll have a very special announcement about my race plans.

Did ya ever watch the Miwok video??? Do you think you will do JFK again this year?

Nope, I've actually never watched a running video at all. I'm not much of a movie watcher somehow.

I would like to go back to JFK, but it's really looking like my travel budget will not allow it. At this point Miwok may be my last plane trip for 2007, and if I decide to take one more it will most likely be Javelina.

I am eternally jealous about Miwok. It is not in the budget/work schedule/ etc. I cannot wait to hear all about it. The movie was breathtakingly stunning.

My next race is the Birch Bay Marathon on Sunday.
Next weekend is The Cowtown Marathon. #2 on my list of crappiest marathons.
The following weekend is Napa, in my top 5 favorite marathons. This will help me wipe the taste of cow out my mouth.

Beyond that, check my schedule.

http://moostronaut.blogspot.com

Tons of wine tasting in the region. Although last year I went to the jelly belly factory instead

Although I have heard that some of the aid stations have wine, I've never seen it during the 3 times I've done this race.

5K couples classic with DW tomorrow. It will be her first race in about 8 years and my third 5k ever.

I'm hoping to finish between 20 and 21. DW will be happy between 28 and 31 I'd guess. When she gets into racing shape she'll be around 24 minutes.

Looking at last year's results that would have put us 7/20 in the 70 - 89 combined age group.

Megapronator from CR ran 16:22 on this course last spring. His partner ran 19:52 and they finished 2nd in our age group by 20 seconds! With the Oly trials training groups in town, you never know who's going to show up...
