Not races, but what are you wearing?

Since I'm not sponsored this year I have to find my own tri clothes.

Sportsbasement has these

I'm liking the Zoot.

How about you?

I applied to Skirtsports for sponsorship. I figured what the hell, right?

So if I were to get that, I'd be racing in their stuff.

Otherwise, I have a new pair of De Soto tri shorts to try out. I usually just wear a bike jersey for the rest of the race. So one of my Terry jerseys. They have some fun new patterns this year, but I can't bring myself to shell out that much $$ for one.

Top: I got one LG top, also gonna get a club top (I think also LG)
Bottom: 1 LG, 1 DeSoto
Bike shoes: Carnac
Running shoes: Difficult decision. I have the regular Brooks. The Newtons. And tomorrow they should deliver the Zoot tri shoes. The last ones seem the most logical for a tri.
Socks: Whatever I find around, or nothing for the Zoots.
Wetsuit: Blue Seventy
Helmet: Giro Advantage
Bike: Cannondale CAAD8

Btw CS, did you get this idea from watching the Oscars red carpet? Wanted to do you own "so, who are you wearing tonight?"

Sheldon: What happened to Amino Vital and your clinic? I thought AV took you back, and I thought your clinic was a staple for years to come. If the clinic is still with you, you could look into get a Tri-suit with their logo printed up.

I have never even seen the Oscars, so that's not it.

I was doing laundry thius AM and realized a ton of my clothes are from AV or from prior sponsors and this year they have no team. I'll train in the stuff, but I'm not wearing it at races so I need a race suit.

The injury took me away from all my races and the ones I did do were mediocre at best, so I never applied for any teams.

ummmmmmmm

I have 1 pair of "tri shorts" that I'll likely use, but i'm gonna have "fashion" questions as April gets closer.

Still not sure what to do with the girls between swim/bike. I can use the same thing in bike/run...but....

well...
my bathing suit isn't enough for running, but would likely be ok for biking.

I figure I've got some time to bug y'all about clothes.

Black trishorts (I pick from Orca, Skirtsports, Canari), Skirtsports Transition Girl Skirt
Typically a Zoot top but I'm lobbying the apparel director in my running club to add tri stuff to the apparel list. If she does, then a tri top with the club logo and small patches from the club sponsors.

[here's a confession: but don't tell anybody] DW had me wear my new (as yet unworn) 2XU tritop and shorts to bed last night. I think you know why.

Zoot shorts. After years of wearing heavily padded shorts, I am finding tri shorts much more comfortable!

tri-top. I have several. Favorite actually matches my shorts.

shoes--not sure. After wearing Brooks Adrenalines for two seasons (multiple pairs!), I jsut switched to something else. Then got this funky foot/toe thing going on. Not sure if it's the shoes. So I'll be rotating running shoes. Pearlizumi cycling shoes.

socks--keds. No kidding. These things are great. About $5/pair. I have about a gazillion pairs, so I can always find a pair.

helmet--uh, it's lilac. Not sure what brand.

I like the Zoot and the Desoto (I have a bias toward orange for some reason, though I don't look good in orange). I think guys look fine in one piece trisuits, but I don't like them on most women.

Wear a sports bra with no cotton in it under a tri top. I wear a Champion Double Dry one. I have several.

I'm probably wearing the same tri top and shorts I wore last year (Desoto). I want to get something new, but they are all so darn expensive. I have a pair of Zoot tri shorts I got last year for cheap. They are purple, and I got the top to match, but I don't really like the top. I think it is too small, and it has sleeves, which bug me. So, I may get a white tri top to match my purple and white tri shorts. I'm not a fan of white, but that's all that will match. I'm going to keep looking for a good deal, though. I got my Desoto on super sale because it was the 2006 model!

Shoes are brand new (just ran in them for the first time today) Nike Air Pegasus (white and bright orange!)

Bike is a blue Guru and helmet is a pink Giro.

I bought a pair of tri shorts last year, but when I got them home realized they were a little too sexy for me, so I returned them for some skewers and just race in bike shorts. I don't have to swim, though.

Great suggestion...I think I have some of these right now, I can try them out in the pool, I guess.

One question, though....
Normally, I wear a 1 piece suit to swim in......two pieces....um, not yet. not for a long time before this, actually.
Do you completely get out of that to bike?
What about the salt/sand from the water getting in it? Is that a problem?

Is it something that won't matter much for my small little race, that would matter more for the HIM or IM distances that y'all are doing?

T3--Adrenaline 6's were perfect. Then, I switched to the 7's. Ended up with terrible calf strains. Massage, PT, rest, nothing worked. THen, I went back to a dead pair of 6's. ***walla*** calf strains resolved. I ordered 3 more pairs of 6's and had no problems. Tired Brooks Vapor, and those were okay. HOwever, they don't make those anymore. Switched to Mizuno Wave Archemy. Nursing a foot/toe injury. Not sure if it's related to the new shoes or not...

jroden--curious how tri shorts are 'too sexy' but bike shorts are okay???
