Nice work, Kath. I hope you get the heel lift thing worked out. I thought more and more PTs lately have said you should generally have LESS heel lift??? I know each person is different, but I have heard that a lot in the last few months (okay 2-3 times), but still.....

What kind of phone did you get, Moe?

My long run done. In gorgeous weather, although it was almost 70 degrees when I finished. It was wicked hard, but I am glad I did it. 18 miles with 12 at goal marathon pace (7:49). The last couple of training cycles I have skipped MP miles in my long runs because: (1) they are the hardest darn workouts in my whole schedule IMHO; and (2) I repeatedly have heard that MP miles really don't provide much of a physiological benefit - just mental. So it has been fairly easy for me to say, I'm not going to do 18 with 12 MP miles, I'll do 20 or 21 and boost up my miles. Well I am glad I didn't today. For 2 reasons: (1) I could really use the mental benefit; and (2) as the temps/miles increased, my HR was at getting up to LT - which indeed DOES provide a physiological benefit. I guess it makes perfect sense. When you are in the middle of a heavy training week, your GMP miles are NOT going to be at your MP heart rate. For my first 6 miles, I was only 4-5 bpm ahead. Last 6, yeah, it was harder and I was at or very close to LT. So I did stopped a few times to get a drink and let the old ticker slow down.

This bumps me to 70.2 miles for the week.
