Hi Hally - I was waiting for someone to start. I was going to but knew someone had to be starting

Mustang - hope your day is better than yesterday's. I'll bet you were glad your day was over.

3J - That kilt is a bit long for those handsome legs. I think the ladies wouldn't mind you hem it up a bit.

55 degrees but only 50% humidity this morning. Still ran in long sleeve and my hands got cold with the cold North wind. (ask my wife bout that)

Really warm and humid here, just like spring. 62 at 4 am! Nice hilly 13 miler but when I got home Tory was waiting at the door instead of sleeping so out for 2 more. I think it's gonna be a looong day! Coffee IV's on tap.

Not wet here.

Up at 4:15 AM and out the door at 4:30.

12 miles at 9:00 min/mile pace overall. Negative splits - 1st 6 all in the 9's, 2nd 6 all in the 8's. Miles 9 and 10 at MP. I feel like I'm slowly building back into shape. Very warm but humidity was mostly bearable.

I got my confirmation for Eugene last night. I guess I gotta do this thing now..

0500, 33F, drizzle and moderate winds

Sproinkless 4 miles or thereabouts with Hamish, who knew what was good for him and behaved, for a change.

Swimming this afternoon. Hang on a minute, Perch, and I'll pull another double for your cappuccino.

Edited to promote Millbot's hilarious Dreadful Photos slideshow, quietly slipped into the end of yesterday's daily. It's just about the last post of the day, and is worth the browse.

Nice adventure run there yesterday Mustang.
Way to crank Bill and Perch, are you all getting ready for marathons or something?
I agree KS, my hem line might be a bit low. I think that's an economic predictor or something.

Millbot or others, on that Adds exercise, should I wait until they all better or just start now? The right side is about better, left side lagging a bit.

Warm and rainy here.
I'm still feeling Sunday's run in me legs.
Playing the workout by ear later.

Have a wild and wonderful day,
JJJ, I started that exercise while I still had adductor pain. I noticed the difference within one day, and within a week the pain was gone. The exercise was uncomfortable at first, but it was a "good hurt", a sensation of working a weak and neglected (and thus grumpy) muscle.

Planned rest day here.

Tres J,
I still want to run The Creeper some year...

breezy

2.9 miles walked with Veta and Bandit and my friend.

I've been swamped with race directorness and nannyness and workness. Please forgive my lack of partcipation.

Sally, thanks for pointing out Millbot's slide presentation displaying how this sport really brings out our unattractiveness... hilarious!

I've been rowing. 6150 meters in 30 minutes last night. And. I have found some machines and some exercises that I can stick with. It's still early in the game but, I think I have finally become comfortable with the weight room at the rec. center.

And... when I asked Eric to show me some alternatives to the machines...especially the abd. machines... he said, "Have you tried planks?" I almost busted out! I said, "NO! But I want to learn! My friends are always talking about planks!" I was so excited. Now I can join the plank revolution... I doubt I will ever join the push-up revolution...well, at least not until I build up these weakling arms.

So. Here I am. Just dropping in to tell you good people how thankful I am for you. I have gained a lot from you sharing your workouts and exercises. Thank you.

T and I were in no hurry this morning,so we just covered the distance...8 miles at an 8:28 pace...

MS...Hope today goes better...that storm was awful yesterday...I'm glad it was a rest day for me...

I have the worst race picture of me hanging on my wall...I had only been running 3 weeks and it was taken right near the end of my first 5K...it looks like collapse is inevitable...

Don't forget to check out JJJ's kilt photo in yesterday's thread too! Very nice

I think Mill needs to set that slide show to a soundtrack. I was trying to think of an appropriate song but the only thing that comes to mind is Monster Mash.

I skipped another run today -- I am really having a tough week re motivation. Maybe I'm decompressing after VRAA? I didn't even want to leave the house this morning after hearing the winds howl. I'd like to retire to a place where the wind doesn't blow. Any suggestions?

8 miles in heavy rain, upper 30's. I think I carried an extra 10 lbs in my shoes seeing as I had the option of a. running through ankle deep puddles or, b. trusting blind and grumpy drivers. 1:08:29, 8:35 pace. Glad that's over.

I just want to tell you guys how hilarious a group you are. I've been laughing like a fool between JJJ's wardrobe and Mustang's description of her evening yesterday. Millbot's slide show was more sobering. I like to forget what the last 4 miles of a marathon feels and looks like. Makes it easy to sign up for the next one.

Good runs all,
Good morning to all of you! Today is no exercise, both because it's always a scheduled rest day, but also because of my hip stitches. Which, by the way, bled all over the CLEAN SHEETS last night. Argh.

JJJ, I absolutely LOVE the kilt picture! You must change your avatar. MS, I hope your day today, and run, is better than yesterday's. You tell such a good story though.... you have a real way with words.

Have a great day today. It's about 50 degrees here in NY with rain off and on.

Yes, JJJ, that's a handsome look.

choovie, I could try adding a soundtrack. Um, any suggestions other than Monster Mash?

Eeek, Riley! Wishing you a fast recovery.

Mustang Sally, eeek! Self-induced misery!

JJJ, you bought my favorite model -- the Survival model (I looked at all of them on the website). Econo-approved!

Hi Rosy!

mill, the slideshow had me laughing until I got tears in my eyes -- too funny! (and thank you for not including my *other* photo, heehee).

4.6 or so random intervals at the track (including 2 m of WU/CD) with The Administrator. It was fun -- we just said, "eh, let's do an 800", then "how about a 200?" etc. Untimed but pushing hard.

Southern Oregon choovie, the wind rarely blows near here. Unfortunately, no library in our county .

Up at 5AM, drove to gym, pool running for 30 minutes. Whole different type of people at the gym at 5:30AM.

Looking for kilts now.

Give it up then, Gordon. That thread is by no means closed. Is it, millbot?

Love the addition of Finny. Never thought of her as a Drama Queen before. Snorkle! I hope everyone has seen the original thread, locked in the Archives. The commentary is priceless, esp Mustang's.

Hubba on the kilt, JJJ. I want to run the AT with you and Rosie!!

One musical suggestion. That's great, mill. Just makes me HOWL!

Okay, out for a run.

Oh, that's a good suggestion, SS. A few minutes ago I added REM's "Everybody Hurts" to the slide show just to get "Monster Mash" out of my head.

The original Dreadful thread is in the Shoe Box, so we can't add to it. But I can add photos to the slide show! Bring them on!

I LOVE the soundtrack to the dreadful slideshow -- it's perfect! I have a couple of races coming up and I'm sure there will be other, even more dreadful, pictures to add.
