Hi all!

Hope that shin/calf thing isn't anything significant, HF!

Got in early to work this morning to hit the TM in the gym, as it's just above freezing here and raining. I think the banana I ate on the way in was a better idea, as the legs had a wee bit of sproink in them. 4.5 miles.

Our fitness manager is looking to buy a new TM for the gym.... apparently it's a model that has a much softer running surface. Anyone tried a Woodway?

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Thanks for starting us Heme. Don't know anything about TM brands or models but seems a softer surface would be good. Mine is not so soft.

HappyFeat - some guys huh; geez. :) What do you expect with pretty ladies and wine? :) Ditto what Heme said about the ouchie parts.

Go run Liam

Was going to run 12 this morning with 6 X 1mi at 1/2 mp pace but didn't want to in this colder weather; plus my heart wasn't in it. Did my usual 10 moh but had some good quality miles avg oa pace 7:40. Felt good in tights, long sleeve covered by singlet, light gloves and ear covering.

FO has all the fun...Here's a story for you featuring our common elite ultra runner acquaintance. We have a local beer mile. Chug a beer, run a lap at the track x 4. HK won it last year in something like 7 minutes. So, not only can he win WS100, but he's the beer mile champ as well.

Nice running Baba, I refuse to stop & walk too, if someone can see me. Fortunately, most of my running is in the woods where I rarely see anyone.

Tamster...you came back, (at least for a day)

Hi Liam....good luck with your training.

Yeah, whoda thunk someone would try to hit on HappyFeat at a wine tasting??? Can't even begin to understand why. Good thing I don't drink.

Hard to get motivated this morning, but managed to eck out 5.5 nekkid miles in the woods. Hope to have a chance to send in the Garmin this week, maybe I'll get it back by Christmas.

ETA: HappyFeat....click on your name, then click on "edit community profile", scroll down to "edit signature line" (or something to that effect, it's at the bottom), make whatever changes you want and save. If a luddite like me can do it, should be no problem for you.

Went for a run.......

With all those feet kicking my butt, I couldn't use the weather or power cuts as an excuse for a second day, so I have been for a run. Managed to get to the gym, and completed a 5Km (3.1m) run in 27:12, a little under 5:30 pace. felt quite comfortable at this pace, and could have gone further, but from these little acorns etc........

I'll catch up with everyone's exploits over a few days - And thanks again for the butt kicks!

Way to go Liam. 4 miles on the next run?

Nice non motivated slacking off sproinky runs for everybody else today. I did a 14 mile progression run on the treadmill starting a little over

8 minute pace and progressing to 6:30 pace. Total time for the run was 1:40. Averaged right at 7 minute pace the last 12. After last weekends race, I kept the elevation at exactly 0% the whole way. I'm officially worn out now.

I know it's weird, Johnny, but I did what you said (yesterday too) and it's like there's no way to add text to that area. I think it's missing a software bit or something. Oh well

QUIT READING AND GO RUN EVERYBODY!

I love that because I frequently get sucked into the computer when I should be heading out.

8 miles for me tonight on the TM, second half at 10:30 - slow for all of you, but faster for me than anything I did last week with the back pain. So I'm on the mend. Right shin was okay -whew! you gotta know I worry about a stress fx (that's "fracture" to you) I've been icing and using voltaren gel on it. I think it's some variant of shinsplint.

I so wanna go Pub Running, FO! sounds great fun to me, although my touchy tummy prolly wouldna agree!

(Johnny, it's possible I drink enough for the both of us when I'm not running; so consider your bases covered. I mighta even had your share tonight! I had an extremely stressful day, can you blame me? I did wait until after I ran my 8-miler!)

Now, I'm thinking of making up Tues night's lost miles on Friday night when I usually don't run in prep for Sat a.m. LR, but am considering postponing it to Sat afternoon. Just not sure if that's "stoopid" since I've got "hot spots" or not. I'll prolly see how I feel Friday.
