Shoes and everything else soaked after this morning's 10 moh. Ran relatively ez.

Daughter in law and friend arrived last night in time for us to have a meal together. They have a seminar until 6 pm tonight to get their credit. Then Thur is play day at the beach for them. Fri. heading home. Last night our son sent pics of clouds almost forming into a tornado in his neighborhood. They were beginning to spin but never quite formed. Some did not too far from his home.

We need a like button on KR. Funny post last night Johnny. OM will probably run a 15 miler this weekend. Hope today is a good day OM. Going home today?

Glad all my Kick/RA/FB frens are dodging those tornados! That some seriously frightening stuff happening down there!

Still sending out healing vibes to Esther.

Got out for a really easy untimed and unmeasured 3.5- 4 mile RAL, just 'cause it's drop dead gorgeous out. Had a few nigglies in the calf and hip... but nothing more than taper twinges, I think. Foam rollered the calves and gave the hips a good stretch when I got back. My head space is good, coworker placated and my biggest worry seems to be whether or not I can manage to drive an hour and a half home after running 31 miles.

Hi All,

Sounds like OM was doing ok yesterday. Hang in there, Esther!

Heme - please be sure you're ready for that drive before you start the return trip. Enjoy that post-race celebration!

Yesterday it got warm and humid here for the first time this year. I ran 3 x 0.5 mi intervals and it was a different. I'll need more time to get acclimated. Today I did some cross training at the gym.

Bruins can clinch it tonight!

Hi guys - I know i am terrible at posting on teh daily threads, and I truly do apologise, and wonder how you manage to find the time each day, but here I digress.

I have actually headed home this week to ireland, as my daughter, within teh next two weeks, is going to deliver me my first grand-child, and withing 90 minutes of returning home, I was laced up and at a race - The Bann 10K. I ran this last year when i was home on vacation, an dtotally unfit, and on a VERY hilly course I ran a trerrible 61:40 for 10K - Disaster.....

Well, I got some revenge this year, on a cold, drizzly night, I amanged to run a 54:23, not great, but significantly better than last year, and I ran this after a 12,000 Km trip home, over 36 hours without sleep - so can't be too bad. I have a full description of events and my splits from tonight on the old blog - and now, I am finally going to hit the sack - May wake up in June :)

I took today off after 3 hard days in a row. Wanted to go 90 minutes yesterday on the eliptical but bonked out at 75 minutes.

I may race this weekend but am undecided what I am going to do at this time. I'm not very good at planning stuff

Hey. Good stuff here with Liam's soon-to-be-here grandchild and OM recovering well! I've been swamped at work so haven't made it over here much, but wanted to stop in and wish OM well on her 15 miler this weekend. (Johnny, that was good)

Go Heme! I admit, I'll have to go look it up, but anything you need to taper for, even a couple days, is worth a shout out.

Mike, I'm still getting used to the heat we have. Or maybe it's the heat and the dryness that's getting me. I just can't drink enough. Today's run was 8.3 somewhat hilly miles with a 9-11 mph headwind the whole way, 75° and 28% humidity. I drank a lot this afternoon and felt parched before mile 5 of this run. Drained a 500 ml bottle of water and was still down almost 3 lbs. I used to never need water during my runs, but the last couple of years I seem less "camel-like" and really need to start planning hydration into my runs. Tomorrow will be another day like today, and I'll run 5 or so on trails at lunch time.
