Is it bad that for "state Treasurer" I voted for the guy, because I liked his commercial?

We had medical marijuana on the ballot too, I voted for it. Even though it will never pass in this state.

I knew the guy voting next to me...so I glanced over and said "What did you put for this one?"

(We don't go behind the curtain, we fill in the bubble sheet, like Standardized testing)

I cracked myself up. Everyone else looked at me like I was strange.

I just voted in my precinct:

2 libertarians

the rest all democrats

I usually vote for my Republican representative on the Dekalb Commission but she must not be up for election until two more years from now.

no on all amendments except to extend the Dekalb County Homestead tax exemption for another 5 years via a 1 cent tax.

I really struggled with my conscience the last week on Amendment 2 which would increase our tag fees by $10.00/year to give dedicated funding to 6 new trauma centers that are badly needed in the state. My problem is I don't trust the politicians to use the $10.00 fee for dedicated funding for trauma centers. When Georgia 400 toll road was built 10 years ago we were promised that when the toll road was paid off the toll would go away. It's paid off this year and the Republican Governor and legislature decided to extend the toll for another 10 years for various projects. So I don't quite trust politicians to do what they say they are going to do with dedicated funds.

We vote by touch screen voting machines. I really like them much better than the old machines with curtains. Some people complain because there is no paper trail to verify against the machines, but nothing has happened out of the ordinary in the 10 or so years Georgia has been using the touch screens to make most people overly concerned about the lack of a paper trail.

Aire Jr is funny. He has moved to Cali and said that he is rethinking the whole "legalize pot" issue. He is actually trying to convince me that it's wrong now--now that I'm softening in my old age and thinking "meh!" (and thinking of an elderly family member who could really benefit probably from medicinal pot--rather than the vikes they do take.)

I voted after school... I told people that I did it "kindergarten style " and colored in ALL the little ovals..> AND made a nice picture on the back where the sheet was empty....

( Seriously .. I did choose as wisely as I could.. As proud independent.. I was surprisingly conservative.. but not entirely! )

I was glad I voted early. After my boot camp class, I had to go get my son at school ( a 15 mile ride). There as an accident on the one cross road to the city only 1/4 mile from my class. ... I went around to get there... it took me about 35 miles out of the way and the round trip was almost 2hours... MANY people were locked in a traffic jam for those hours and probably did not make it home on time to vote at all! )

(Of course they may have forgotten who the voted for by the time they leave the polling place)

Well, as it turns out, only a couple of persons in local races that I voted for won. No one I voted for in the Governor, State or National elections came close.

On the other hand, the winners were on par with my voting patterns over the last 4 decades. Being a progressive to liberal voter in Georgia isn't very popular.

Wisconsin....what a flip-flop!!!!!

the only explanation that I can come up with. Is that Milwaukee factor was HUGE. Milwaukee is always blue and the maps I see is that the only blip of blue was Madison. The democrats were backed by all media outlets. I'm in shock that Feingold lost...shocked.

South Dakota elected a new representative to the House. (Yes, we only have one)

Basically, I think for the following reasons.

1. The now former Rep was a Democatic Woman

2. The challenger, Republican Woman...is much more attractive.

3. The Democrat got married to a Washington lobbyist.'

Our "new" rep. She got in a little trouble when it came out she had a bunch of speeding tickets in her past.

I believe this was a "made-up" response by a blogger, but it made the e-mail rounds anyway.
