(we call it Ft. Liquordale)

While y'all are here near the Starting Line for the new VRAA, I thought you might like to know where you're at, and perhaps enjoy a refreshment or two.

The Starting Line area looks something like this:

though this beach is just a little bit north of where we've started, closer to my house, and we'll probably hit it later in the day.

While you're hanging out at the beach, I mean starting line, maybe you'd like to groove to some tunes. I'm playing Mana. Want to hear them, too? Muelle de San Blas

In the meantime, sip on some of these mojitos (if you like rum):

or caipiroshkas (if you prefer vodka):

and if you're hungry and want to take in some protein and carbs, this Venezuelan arepa should hit the spot:

I hope y'all enjoy it here! Have fun heading out on the VRAA.

Wow Dev, thanks!

I'll pass on the mojitos, but will parttake in some carb-loading. Beer and Pan de Yucca works for me.

Okay, 6900 miles is a long way to go. I'll take a cup of cafe', too.

Vivir Sin Aire is a great one, Sputnik. I haven't heard Cachito. It makes me laugh b/c while I know 'cachito' means little horn, in Venezuela it's the name for small croissant pastries (shaped like horns). So I think of a cachito con jamon y queso.

I thought of you at the market the other day, Lloyd. Goya sells Pan de Bono and Pan de Yuca in the freezer section at Publix. Actually, if there's a little Latin Food section at your grocery store, they may sell it there, too.
