Outstanding RC! Looking forward to some good discussions.

FWIW, I'm about 237. I've been losing about 20 lbs/year, which seems slow but at least I'm keeping it off. As far as MPW goes, I'm in the 30s range too, sometimes in the 20, rarely in the 40s.

Well I'm a clydesdale too. I'm tall for a woman, fortunately, but weight 150 (all muscle -- not). I'm coming off yet another injury and am currently running about 10 miles per week, but hopefully will get back up to 15 miles per week by the end of February. At least that's the plan. I hope to lose 5 lbs too. I find that if I drop to under 140, I look like carp.

Been running since July 2003 - Was 300#. Raced 2004 @ 220, 2005 @ 210, 2006 & 2007 @ 205. I am 6'2.

I love putting mileage - 2005 hit @ 4,900 miles - 2006 @ 4,800 - 2007 got injure - took 12 weeks off, put on 40#. Started back training @ Thanksgiving.

My goal for 2008 - to no longer qualify for clydesdale division as races - But in my heart I will always be a clydesdale.

Welcome everyone -

Thanks for emailing me about Kickrunners, Richard! (We're both CR refugees)

Chris here. Been running on and off since about 1988, mostly road running. I started trail running in 2003 after moving from Indiana to Boulder, Colorado. The trail running has since turned into mountain running and ultramarathons... I must have been dropped on my head as a baby.

My high weight was about 250 in 2001. Down to about 210 now and looking to drop to about 185-190 in the next year or so (but, like Flounder, I'll always be a clydesdale at heart).

YAY! I've recently dropped 37 lbs. but have another 35 to go. Ran in '05 for about 6 months. Started again in November and am up to 20mpw with a 6 mile long run. Planning a 1/2 in April. Also a CR refugee. Happy to be here!

Yo Yo Dieter. Hi all. I've gained about 30 lbs in the last 2 years. Have gone through depression & didn't care about myself for awhile. Hopefully I've worked through that & can get back on track. I've been running for almost a year but know I would run much better if I lost some weight. I'm working on getting to at least 20 mpw. The most I've done is 17 & then things got crazy. Hopefully they'll settle down after the holidays. Only 9 this week.

Am planning to join Weight Watchers Wed. after Christmas.

Howdy all...I used to run alot (10 marathons between 2000 and 2003) albeit slowly. The past 3.5+ years I have basically done no running and am getting back into the swing of things. "Started" again the Monday of Thanksgiving week and had 5 decent weeks before getting "the Crud" along with the rest of my pack. Didn't run for 8 days before getting back out there January 1st. Ran the 1st and 2nd, took yesterday off but will get back out there this afternoon. Pretty much starting from scratch and will come back slowly but surely. I'm 42, married, 5'10" and weigh about 230 right now. The wife says I'm solid everywhere except for the "beer" belly. Cutting back on the beer and gonna get that mileage up, along with some better food choices and hopefully drop some of this weight I've found the past several years. I was 205-210 when running the marathons but I would love to get down to about 190-195. Been lurking here a few days but thought I'd say "Howdy"...I joined Kick! way back in September '99 as Brian from FW before becoming TheRunningWolf...so, that's a little about me (actually a lot) and I hope ya'll don't mind me hangin' here some with ya...Brian in Fort Worth, Tx (where it's been low 20's in the morning the past couple days but gonna be mid 70's by the weekend)...gotta love that crazy Texas weather

Hi all,

Started running in July 2006. I really disliked running at first but after about three months I came to love it. My backgroung- I'm 37 year old male with two kids and a wife. I'm 6'3 212. When I satrted I weighed 240. My weight has pretty much hit a plateau and don't see myself cutting any more weight. I run about 22-25 miles per week and recently started adding tempo and hill workouts. I'm hoping to run a sub 25 min. 5k and a 40 minute 8k this year. Thinking seriously about the Detroit Free Press Half next October and finishing it in 2 hrs.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Take care,

I'm an old clydesdale....... been running for over 25 years.... currently running 35 mpw. My weight has ranged from 160 to 250 throughout the years.... 205 right now but hoping to drop some lbs this winter and spring and get back to being a little more competitive in my AG. My favorite races are HMs but do like 5K and 10K races too. Marathons are my least favorite distance although I've run 10 and will probably run a few more.
