Well I dont know how to organize one of these... but January 1 2008 I weighed in at 261 lbs I am sure some water weight.

While on my run this morning i realized I take between 1200-1500 steps a mile that means If I lose 20 lbs that is a lot of weight taken off my legs every mile. Early goal is 247. Good luck to everybody who chooses to join this... My biggest enemy will be Cocktails!

Coctails are EASY calories...I've had a few too many this holiday season. It's amazing how much weight I dropped during peak IM training when I gave up drinking.

I've never counted my steps per mile...interesting!

I wonder when you/I lose weight if the # will go down b/c our stride can open up more!

Current: 210lbs
Last week's loss: 1lb
Goal: 190lbs (20lbs to go)

I second that emotion.

*sigh* That's probably what I should do, too. I have about 3 bottles of beer left in the fridge. I think I should lay off the alcohol after that.

I weighed in at 240 on 12/31. I've lost about 20 lbs/year for the last 2 years. My high school reunion is coming up this year, and as a sop to such vanity as I have , I'd like to lose 20 lbs by 6/30. I would still be pleased if I lose 18 lbs by 6/30 (3 lbs/month). After that, I'd like to lose another 10 by the end of the year.

If I can manage to lose more, well....

I like the idea of weekly weigh ins. I was thinking of posting that to the weekly workout thread, anyway. I'd be just as happy to post in this separate thread.

Thanks,
Billy

There will always be beer in the house - You do not take beer away from a WI women (My wife) or there will be hell to pay. She's tolerant of this running hobby, but not that tolerant.

It's time to kick this Pig in the ribs and get moving on losing # - Unless you know where I can get free - safe - liposuction?

I'm in. My weight loss started on October 15th when I weighed in at 236 OUCH! Today I weighed in at 194. I weigh in on Saturdays (officially, though I weigh everyday) and my average weight loss has been about 2.5 lbs. per week. My goal is 165 by April 25th. I am 5'8" with a large bone structure. So at 165 I look hot in a bikini...believe it!
Good Luck everyone!

What I was trying to say with steps per mile.... was If I loose 20 lbs... and I take 1500 steps in a mile that is 30,000 lbs less hitting the ground every mile...

Ha! I totally understand. Usually, the beer buying duties fall to me. I somehow feel...obligated...if I am the one buying the beer. The wife can bloody well drink it if she buys her own, though.

I'm in. I stopped weighing myself back in Sept. because I stalled out at 200. I wasn't able to lose the little speed bump at the belt line, and I'm positive that's where most of its sitting. Now, I'm up to 208, and I think I can lose at least 15. Wish me luck.

I'm new around here and have been trying to get running to be a mainstay in my life. Unfortunately, when winter hit my running became sporadic, and I've gained a lot of the weight I lost back. Started again this morning.

I'll weigh in on Wed. My Mondays are usually screwy from my Sunday long runs. I seem to gain 3-6lbs after my runs over about 20-25 miles, due to electrolyte/water imbalances. Things usually return to normal by Wed.

Weight 1/7/08 217
Week loss 12#
Total loss 12#
Some how I think this next week will be more of a break even week
