I went from July 2005 to December 2006 dry as a bone - 2006 was my best year running ever - It wasn't worth it.

That being said - There is a happy medium that does involve less cocktails and more fitness.

I spent more time in college at 1914 then in classes (It is now called The Eagles Nest) An theother half of the time I was downtown making the rounds - Bearnie on the bottles and a blastoff (RIP Bernie) a stop at the popcorn tavern to watch all the hippies smoke pot, Maybe a fish bowl, maybe a stop at Lindies - usually ending it all at The Dinner"

Richard any of that sound familiar

Of course I had nothing against "The recovery Room" or Apline and the Cellar at UW-L served beer and would do in a pinch.

Flounder for sure 1 if not not 2 runs a week starts and finishes at the Nest!

the Alpine is now a place best to run to as Bliss road is closed to traffic... but makes a nice 2 mile run up hill the whole way! an more depending on where you start! I like to start at the Nest as that is where my double cheeseburgers are served!

I run for the Love of it... not to be good at it ( easy to say since I know I never will be good at it)... However I do want to run long! and will make small and I mean small sacrifices for that.

Edited... for accuracy

If someone wanted to offer me free liposuction as part of a demonstration to medical students - I would jump all over it. I know its cheating - But I am getting tired of always trying to lose weight.

Before I found running - I used to be very good at losing and gaining - 20-30 pounds per month - Best was 87 pounds in 90 days. I always gained it back.

This time with running - I went from @ 300 (7/03) to a low of 185 (9/06) but it is still a constant struggle. Only now with running I usually hit a max of high 230s before I make an intervention. But now I can not lose more than 10# a month.

Sorry just venting - Unless you are an excellent - Accrediited plastic surgeon that wants to do pro-bono work

Its not about body image, just about being healthy and running faster and being more active - so a few scars would be ok.

Just wait until you're pushing 60 ..... seems like the older I get the harder it is to lose the pounds and the easier they come back on! In the past 6 years I've been as high as 250 and as low as 180..... needless to say my best year running since turning 50 was when I was 180..... I even managed to grab some AG awards. My problem has been injuries.... I don't mind cutting back on eating and drinking if I can see results... it's when I'm sitting around injured... there just doesn't seem to be a reason not to pop open a cold one Last summer on the DL with a sciatic nerve acting up, I completely blew my diet by perfecting a margarita recipe .... an easy 30 pounds gained and now I'm struggling to get it back off.

Starting weight 205 (3/3/08 )
last week lost -1.5
Current weight 203.5 (3/11/08 )
Goal weight 180 (by 10/15/08 )
(Dream weight 160)
