The left foot is still sore. Looking back in my running log I see that I have been noting it for about 8 weeks but didn't pay it much attention because of other parts that were hurting. Apparently it is more serious than I thought. Hopefully it is just from using shoes without enough cushioning and not a stress fracture.

Last week was a lousy 22 miles. I am thinking of taking several days off to see if it helps. I have average 120 miles a month or a year, I should be in better shape than I am. A 4 month training program for a fall marathon should start about now, but why stay injured by running injured?

Good luck everybody.

Hey PA, hang in there. I think some time off is maybe good to get a leg up on that injury. Better to nip it in the bud before it becomes a big problem.

Getting closer. I was 185.6 after my run last night... dehydrated, no doubt, but a good sign. I had a good week of training last week. This week is shaping up to be excellent. My family is out of town, visiting family, so it frees up some more training time and time to sleep in my car at 10,000' to acclimate.

Good running and eating everyone!

I think I have to restart for Leadville, knowing the original goal of 180 is out. I have made very little weight loss progress YTD. But I feel pretty good, just a little naggly on the hamstrings - Nothing that I even notice unless I am trying to run fast. I am a little nervous with Grandmas Marathon in 10 days how they will hold out. Attacking hilly trails up or down don't seem to offend them.

Thanks Mike, I'm feeling pretty good. Weight is finally coming off well (which is good in a race w/ 34,000' of gain). I'm hoping to start Hardrock 34lbs lighter than last year. That has to be worth something, hopefully a couple of hours!

"Total mileage 103 miles - 50 beers" <--- that one had me laughing! That's one heck of a ratio!!
