Hi all. Didn't see a thread yet so I might as well start one. Even though tomorrow is weigh in day I am happy with what I saw this morning. 209.8. My new goals are to stay under 210 and start consistently moving towards 200. This will be 3 of the last 4 weeks that I am just under 210. IF I can stay away from eating out and keep up the water intake I think I can bust 205 in the nose within a few weeks.

Good luck to you all this week. May the scale love you all.

I lost .4 last week and weighed in at 148 even this morning. Because I haven't been lifting, however, my body fat is back up over 20%. Hopefully the surgeon will give me the OK to lift tomorrow at my follow-up appointment.

Well I dropped two pounds from last week which is great. But over the last month I had put on about 4 or 5 ( darn sick/dying relatives ) . The biggest change with me in the last week was I havent had a Coke or Pepsi since Saturday the 8th. Strictly water and the occasional bottle of OJ. I need to start putting some of those Crystal Lite flavor packets or something in the water, its getting a bit boring. But I havent really craved or had any withdrawls from the soda. Had a killer headache last Monday and Tuesday but nothing since.

Well I am off to a good start. This is the first Monday in recent memory that I did not go pig out for lunch at the delish Mexican restaurant. I went home and saved money as well by not eating out.

Changed my sig to remind me of my new short term goal- 205. I have somewhat stabilized at 210 after weighing 215 for probably 5 or more years. Now at 209ish. Baby steps to 185, baby steps.

ugh. Well I got what I deserved this morning. 210.6. Missed my goal by 0.7. But last night after the basketball game I was very bad: instead of water and no food I snacked and had a few diet sodas. Yeah the drinks didn't have calories but they weren't the water that would have benefited me. Also I stayed up late and didn't get much sleep at all. I need more self discipline. Simple as that. Sooooo close. Oh well. Today is another day's battle.

Hey, all--

Just a quick check in for me. I haven't been keeping up very well. I was very worried about stepping on the scale this morning since I had a bad week finishing up the dissertation and then I spent a week eating out. Well, I actually lost 2 pounds! That felt very good. Thus, during the weight loss challenge, I lost 11.5 pounds. I'm really proud and the hard work showed when I ran 5 miles last week and averaged 11:30 per mile which is 15 seconds per mile faster than what I "raced" in the 8k in Philadelphia! And there were some hills in there, too which slowed me down.

Good luck this week!

Hey all!

Frankie - that is some feat with the pop, WOOT!. I need to control the Dt. coke thing, but I have been saying that for years!!

Hang in there Maples!

Maria! Awesome on keeping the 11 off!!

I had a great week last week eating wise and ok with workouts, and I am off to a good start this week. I kind of miss weighing in, as I feel I made progress and have no way to measure it, but I will let myself measure in 2 weeks. (Finishing up a 1/2 cup of Cottage cheese!....)
Later!

Frankie....that's great!! I'm more of a salt person, but I can tell the sugar/soda thing is a tough thing to beat. Kudos!

WTG Prae, Maria and Hawki!! Slow, steady and maintaining...awesome!

I'm down 1.5 this week....total 13.5 during the weight-loss challenge. I think about 7 of those were just from me stopping all the BS eating and getting my water in; the other 6.5 I think were real pounds that I worked for. But either way...I've finally dropped the poundage I gained writing my dissertation in October!

Now I'm onto my next 8lb goal. These are gonna be tough

Thanks, girls!!

I was wondering, if anyone else has found that you have to constantly re-asses your healthy living plans as you lose? I've kept off ~38lbs for over 4 years now, but have been fluctuating around 198-203 for awhile now. It's clear that I have to work harder on nutrition to get down to goal (178-185) but it's so frustrating figuring out the right combination to see results, but not go so crazy that I can't sustain the lifestyle. I guess in that sense I'd rather hang out around 198 forever than to get to goal and then gain and lose 15 pounds over and over.

Bleh. No more whining for me. It's hard, I get it. Thanks for listening

Biah, I'm constantly re-assessing my ass Knowledge is power. My latest set of changes have me eating much further down the food chain, it was really just tweaks here and there but they add up. Similar to how eating a bag of smoked cheddar popcorn in a single/couple sitting(s) adds up (esp. when done more than once a week).
